Are you a citizen of heaven or do you only have your green card or both?

Are you a citizen of heaven or do you only have your green card or both?

Paul used his Roman green card to give him some leverage and time to stand for righteousness, and to promote God’s Kingdom, preach the Word and bring others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Acts 22:28-30
28 Then the commander said, "I had to pay a big price for my citizenship."
"But I was born a citizen," Paul replied.
29 Those who were about to question him withdrew immediately. The commander himself was alarmed when he realized that he had put Paul, a Roman citizen, in chains.
30 The next day, since the commander wanted to find out exactly why Paul was being accused by the Jews, he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the Sanhedrin to assemble. Then he brought Paul and had him stand before them.

Paul knew this Roman green card was temporary. Paul didn’t throw his green card away or, but used it for God’s purpose.
Phil 3:19-4:1
Their mind is on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Paul’s mind was not on earthly things but promoting heavenly things on earth.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Paul gave us much of the New Testament and the council of God is for our benefit.

Quote: 'Paul's mind was not on earthly things but promoting heavenly things on earth.'

We should be of that mind also.

Are we?

I suppose that is the key. What are our motives? Are we keeping our minds on "things above" as we work?

May God help us to shine the light in an increasingly dark world!

Paul didn’t throw his green card away

There are fine examples of this among both the 18th century Puritans and the 19th century Methodists. Some people want to live only in the material world, while others want to live only in the spiritual world. Yet throughout the bible you see there is a need to live in both.
