Email Encouragements!

sermonindex Jun 24, 2004

I am going to post some encouraging emails I have gotten ove the past while, There has been probably literally up to 1000 of these so I will just post a few here to encourage everyone that is part of this ministry project to be encouraged and know the Lord is working in many peoples hearts.I actually had 100's of testimonies and encouraging emails saved since the beginning of SermonIndex but I lost it when one of the computers drives acted up. :-( ---From : Sent : June 23, 2004 12:48:53 PM To : sermonindex@msn.com Subject : Leonard Ravenhill | | | Inbox Greetings in the name of Jesus: Please allow me to share my heart. I apologize if it is not composed perfectly, but I do not have time to share like I desire because I am at work. I do not have internet access at the home. I want to first thank you for the encouragement that your ministry has been to my walk with the Lord. There is a desperate need in our day for the remnant people of God, those who are longing for reformation and revival, to be feed and encouraged. I feel alone at times and it is a great encouragement for me to listen to Leonard Ravenhill or Tozer during these times. I do not always have the time to listen to the others, but I am sure they could be an encouragement as well. Ravenhill just preaches it straight. I have my ups in downs in seeking for a personal revival in my own life. Brokenness, loneliness, weeping, confessing, and repenting wears me out. I realize that my strength is in the Lord so do not get me wrong. I need to pray through. I cannot explain at times, but who can explain the groaning of the Spirit of God. Anyways, it seems that Ravenhill has the gift to encourage Christians to allow the Lord to bring them to the end of themselves (absolute surrender). We know that the Lord knows our hearts and there is nothing hidden from His sight. I have gone down many of times to die or be really crucified with Christ and to be filled with all the fullness of God, but have come up disappointed. I realize that it is by grace through faith and not of works (I have read about Harry Ironside). I also realize that God is ready and willing, but I am the one who is holding back. Maybe Brothers and sisters please keep pressing on to perfection, praying without ceasing, encouraging one another, and fighting the good fight of faith. Thank you again for your ministry. May He alone be glorified in everything we do, Kenneth

From : oarsman7 Sent : April 21, 2004 5:14:01 PM To : Subject : Hey Greg God is Great | | | Inbox Greg,Just wanted to email you and say a few things. Now, right off the bat, iwant you to understand that in no way am I praising you or any sort of thatkind of thing. ALL of the praise and thanksgiving i have in my heart goesdirectly to God. So, if you would please, allow me to ramble for a few minutes... I first found your site while searching the web for Tozersermons...something i had grown frustrated with because they were buried sodeep and I couldn't seem to get my hands on anything, except a few tapeshere and there...but I knew they had to be out there. So, I searched forthem one more time and at first it was the same old story...until i found alink to your site...'hmmm...never noticed that before..." 'click'...Icouldn't believe my eyes...this happened pretty soon right after youlaunched the site. I ate it up. With praises in my heart, I ate it up. ilistened to as much Tozer as I could. I drank it in like water...but youknow how it is. You find some that really speak loud and clear to yourheart's need and you sit on those for a long while. That is how I heard of Vance Havner. I saw his name, along with someothers i had never heard of, and whenever brothers like Tozer mention namesof men or women or books...i start digging. I make lists of names and booksand keep them for future refernce either to purchase or listen to. One day I clicked on 'Leonard Ravenhill' by 'coincidence'. It was allover then. Just as God had used 'The Pursuit of God' to lay me open so manyyears ago (and still continues to do so as I meditate and marinate in thetruth of that little book) God had already prepped me to do the same withLeonard Ravenhill. Time would fail me to tell you all that God has done inme, not by Ravenhill or Havner or Booth, or Tozer, but by the effectiveworking of HIS power in me using these men of God. I am working on a few little booklets/pamphlets on the minor prophetsthat were the primer for the pump...things that the Lord has been showing meabout how He dealt with His own people then, How He is dealing with His ownpeople now (me, personally) and how is dealing with His people as a whole(the church). I am a very good friend of Craig Sayler's. And he shares with me what isgoing on behind the screen, as he is able to help you out from time to timewith server stuff, etc. What a blessing. I had an idea last year, as i was steeping in the richness of what is onthis site and how badly it needs to be heard by so many who are 'asleep inthe Light' today in the church. I want to download and burn cases of audioand dvd versions of so many messages and hand them out to every believerthat i know. I am going to start with Havner's "Getting used to the Dark"and Tozer's "Where is the Lord God of Elijah", along with a few of Tozer's"What it is to accept Christ". Those that return hungering for more, acouple more Tozers and then slip in a Ravenhill occasionally... but we both know that it's not hearing these sermons that will changeanyone...It's prayer. Pray, pray, pray. God must do it. Unless the Lordbuilds the house, they labor in vain who build it. When we pray in secret toour father who is in secret and He sees in secret, He will reward us openly. The Lord has been telling me over and over again to pour water on it,again and again, just like Elijah on top of Mt. Carmel. We need to go out ofour way (into the secret place) to let everyone know that we're not tryingto help God in any way. We are actually going out of the way to pour wateron what we are asking, longing, desiring, crying out for God to do in ourtime. More to say, but i have the distinct priveledge of going to the dentistnow. Oh, Joy! God draw you closer to Himself, Greg. just as oswald Chambers said in'My utmost for His highest last week..."If you have heard Jesus voice on thebillows, let your consistency go to the wind, let your convictions go thewind, but maintain your relationship to Him." Let us never forget that Hisname is Jealous. He wants to spend time with us and us with Him.Talk to you again soon.Your Brother-In-Arms,Josh Olson

This is of the Holy Spirit, God is speaking of the urgency of the times to a sleeping and carnal church. l strongly agree with everything be bold and courageous to speak on for The Lord my brother. The Lord impressed me to send a similar cry for Joel's Assembly to thousands of pastors, l got about only 5 response. Please visit our website http://cpmi777.org/ to read about the cry of The Lord to this nation. You recommend it to others if The Lord leads you. It is a mnessage from His heart that l feel everyone needs to hear and warned before it is too late. l would also like to know how l can send articles like this to be posted and also how to put my sermon tapes on your site. l have written twice to enquire of the procedure but l never got any response. Let us continue to cry out to God to do whatever it takes to turn this nation back to Him we have hurt Him too much , worst than any other generation or nation. Now the jugment is at our door and surprisingly we are still sleeping! May the power of The Spirti continue to be upon you Servant of GodEvangelist Godfried Baning

Even the way they speak of Him is intimate. Something deep and meaningful has happened between them. Not only do they see Him in "awe" but in "adoration" as well. There has been two way communication going on- not just one way communication. :-) It is indeed a relationship! Thanks for sharing. In Him, Chanin

Sent : June 6, 2004 8:56:05 AM To : sermonindex@msn.com Subject : blessings to you | | | Inbox I Am convinced by scripture that there is a desperate cry for revival. EVEN from the very throne of God Himself. It is the responsibility of us His children to pray. To travail. To sob and repent for the sin of our lands. The world is in need of a physician. And we the church have the cure. But we first must be delivered. I LOVE this web site. It's always a blessing in my soul to know there are others who desire to see the restoration of the true Apostolic. Not as it pertains to a or another denomination. But a real book of Acts lifestyle that was intended from the day of the ascension. Once agin I love you and your endeavors. I will be as I'm allowed supporting you financially. I plan on burning multiple copies of certain messages and passing them out to key Pastors in my city. The city of Rockford Illinois has over four hundred churches and noe of us are one the same page. It is without question the most religious city I've ever seen. But OOOOHHHH! God is going to do something. And of that I'm convinced.

However, I am interested in so many of the titles that you have, that with our 24 kbps internet connection, it would be inpractical (to say the least) to download them. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to burn all of the messages by the speakers we areinterested in onto DVD-R's or CD-R's, depending on whether you have a DVD burner or not. I would be more than happy to pay for any and all expenses incurred for media and labor. If this is a possibility, I will e-mail you back with the list of speakers I am interested in. Thank you very much.Michael Pipolo

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys for putting this site up. I've enjoyed it. There seem to be some children of God here with the true heart cry for revival. I pray that God will fan the flame among you all and among all His sons and daughters world-wide. Something must happen very soon. I'm feeling a great judgment in the air. Do all that you can guys. The days are very very evil. But, God is very very good and will keep His sheep very well through it all. May God bless your work here. I have put a link to your place on my website. There's not much there yet, just some test files. If you'd prefer, I'll remove it. I'd just like to steer as many of the called-out people to any real food that exists out there and I think some of this is good. We are soon to see The King! Blessings in the Name of God our Savior.

I find the messages from the earlier generations.. those of Leonard Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, Keith Green to be very powerful and full of truth not perverted by todays commercial Gospel. I believe my generation needs to hear these words. Thank for keeping these messages posted, I wouldn't know where else to find them. I've bought books by David Wilkerson, Keith Green, Leonard Ravenhill and others but its really hard to find them actually preaching messages. How much would it cost to get a hard copy of them all? I will graduate soon in a year so then cost wouldnt matter much, but I'd like to have these messages on hand. I think it would a great thing to add to your site if possible. A way to order hard copies. I'm one to support donation financed christian ministry. I believe God blesses those who depend on God in that way in their ministry. I haven't much money but once I get job you will be sure to recieve a donation from me. God bless. Thank for you time, your work and faithfullness to making this site possible.
