Far from being silly, I think the music is beautiful and can actually enhance the message. Certainly the prophetic word of the Lord spoken under the unction of the Spirit needs no enhancement. However, the psalms were put to music for this very purpose. Certain truths were better received and perceived when accompanied by music. Certain Psalms even had to be in certain keys, with certain instruments, having a particular rythym, and sometimes even be set to the tune of an existing song. That's because David, most likely trained by Samuel, understood the power of music upon the human soul. It can move the soul in the most sensual and demonic ways, and it can also cause the spirit to be opened to hear the word of the Lord in a way that it would normally not be opened. Certainly this was not an Old Testament truth only. Just my thoughts...
