In need of prayer partners who will help lift up me in prayer while I am serving the KING in Asia

J
jarona Jun 29, 2008

I do ministry in Hong Kong and mainland China. I will be doing some work in Vietnam and Laos soon. I am in need of prayer partners to intercede on my behalf and on behalf of the souls we are ministering to in Hong Kong and China. I am in need of prayer for my upcoming trip to Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand.

I am not just looking for a one time prayer but for men and women of God who will commit themselves to continually intercede for me that I may be sustained and have great favor for Jesus and the salvation of souls, etc. etc.

My email is jaronamyona@yahoo.com

and my name is Jaron Lines,

if you would like to receive prayer updates from me every now and then or would like to know more about ministry opportunities in Asia or would like to help the poor in China or someone in need you can contact me and I can share with you to help advance the Kingdom of God on the earth.

We must be violent and aggressive to lay hold of the things of God and aggressivley confront and destroy the works of the devil and take territory for Christ and see a harvest of souls because of the mercy of God and us submitting and surrendering ourselves to His Holy Fire so that His Glory can be made manifest and set the captives free.

May God help us to follow Him and do His will in all things and at all times, God bless you,

Jaron Lines

How could you talk about being "violent" and "aggressive" and at the same time "submitted" and "surrendered" to the Lord? "Aggressively confronting", "taking territory for Christ"? Are we some crusaders or what? Are we playing soldiers? Are you thinking so highly of yourself?

This is fleshly zeal, Jaron. And it only brings shame. It pretends to glorify God, but in reality promotes the self. If we are truly surrendered to the Lord, doing nothing of ourselves, there is no place for the kind of fiery determination you are describing and calling others to.

"Advancing the Kingdom on earth" cannot happen with the power of flesh and blood. This will be another kingdom, more like the Roman Catholic Church or Islam. Because the Kingdom cannot come unless we are dethroned and Christ becomes King over our everything--even OUR DESIRE TO PREACH THE GOSPEL.

Now you are running to Asia, but have you read what the Pharisees did and what the Lord told them?

Mat 23:15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

Those people had the passion, but their cause was corrupted by their flesh. They lacked genuine understanding and a circumcised heart, and hence they did much harm to the cause of the Kingdom. In word they preached the truth, but in deed they denied it; and because of them the Gentiles blasphemed the name of God. It was those same people who killed the prophets and crucified the Lord Jesus Himself. "Hypocrites," He called them, "Brood of vipers".

And now you are talking about God's "Holy Fire" and "His Glory"? Do you know what these words mean? How can you use them so lightly? Have you read about the man who tried to stabilize the staggering Arc of the Covenant? He was stricken dead on the spot for touching something he wasn't allowed to touch. And now you are storming "mission fronts" for Christ so boldly? And you are calling others to be as brave and as strong and join you in the missionfield? Have you not read that God's strength is made perfect in WEAKNESS? Only in our weakness and our failure will the Lord provide His strength. No violence, no aggression, no destruction, no confrontation... lest we become like the sons of Sceva, whom the demons overcame.

That kingdom you are building will be tried by fire one day. And only that which is built by God will stand. Everything else--the wood, the straw, the chaff--will get burned.

I saw your request before I joined other believers at Church today. I am one who prays and wondered. During Sunday school, as we focused on several Bible verses regarding Salvation (from what, to what, for what, by whom, etc.), the teacher added to the list John 6:25-51 and asked me to read it. That passage has a tremendous import to me, God having used it in the course of His work in this little Church, 15+ years ago, with much Glory to His Name (too much to tell here).

The point here is:

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Surely you are not running after miracles and signs. When you are in Burma (Thailand) you might come across Free Burma Rangers. Ask David for his testimony, the Word of his testimony. I think you could relate to his having come to the end of running his own show while an officer in the Army Rangers (much wisdom added to zeal with much Glory to God). Balance.

I have prayed what I can Jaron. I would not have made a post here, had I not seen NotMe’s upon returning from Church. This is odd for me. Please know that I am seeking God to search my heart with respect to this serious truth. God continues to grow those who believe. If this is way off-base, it is my fault, toss it.

With confidence in God.

Fyi, here is another thread where Jaron shares about the work he has been involved with in Hong Kong.

"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." Hebrews 13:3

One of the greatest needs of the Body of Christ in Ch_na is Bibles, and one effective ways to get them into the country is smuggling. I'm not sure what new opportunities brother Jaron has planned...but this is what he has been involved in.

Just thought that might be a helpful added aspect to this conversation.

Now you are running to Asia, but have you read what the Pharisees did and what the Lord told them?

And you are once again running your mouth ... This is twice in a weeks time that you have come spouting pious rhetoric to requests for prayer to brothers going out on to the mission field.

And you have the gall to speak of the Pharisees? If it needs to be explained to you what sort of violence our brother is speaking about in a colloquialism against the devil then I fear the spirit of the Pharisee and what often attended that disposition of proud criticism is more entrenched than you know.

Challenge yourself, go back and read the last handful of replies you have posted and see if there is not a haughtiness and pride of setting yourself up as judge and jury and the accusations you level are not those on a mirror looking back at you.

The devil wants us to believe that we are saintly and superior to other Christians — that’s the way he hooks us! That’s why he gets other people to tell us how well we are doing — and how we are passing right by other Christians who are not humble and warm-hearted “like we are!”
\t
Every time you take a new step forward for God the devil will have some means of communicating to you the fact that God is proud of you — and that you are wonderful! As soon as he can get you interested enough to say, “Yes, I guess that’s true,” you have had it, brother!
\t
Now, what about the blame we often get from our fellow Christians? Are you hidden away in Christ Himself and so occupied in spirit that you take little heed of what men do or say about you?
\t
I have observed that as long as we sit frozen to our chair, making no spiritual progress, no one will bother us. No one will come and put an arm around our shoulder and urge us: “Thou hast dwelt in this mount long enough — rise therefore and go across this Jordan!”
\t
But, if we start to cross Jordan urged on by our own spiritual thirst and desire, at least fourteen people will ask prayer for us in the concern that we are losing our minds.
\t
During my ministry I have seldom been blamed for being cold when I was cold. People don’t come to the pastor and say, “You are no longer warmhearted — what has happened to Your spiritual life?”
\t
I have concluded that you can be backslidden, and in the rank and file of evangelical Christians no one will take any notice of it. There will be no rebuke.
\t
On the other hand, they will jump down your throat and accuse you of showing off as soon as you start to seek God in earnest for victory and blessing! It does seem odd that we can be in the Christian faith and yet we are going to have bleeding fingernails and sore knees for every inch of ground that we take away from the devil!
\t
That’s why so many Christians are taking so little! Many of us had actually taken more spiritual ground when we were converted than we now possess.

I had the pleasure of going to China this last spring and meeting brother Jaron. I was greatly blessed by his desire and fire for the Lord.

Selflessly he has left all and followed Christ's call to preach the gospel. Though I was only with him for a few hours i sensed in him an urgentness, or as Ralph Barnett says, "a holy haste" to obey our Lord's commission. His eyes are opened to spiritual warfare, and i know that seeks God in prayer.

Brother Jaron and I are different in many ways, but I praise the Lord for guys like Him, willing to do, not just hear the Word of the Lord.

I've been praying for you Jaron.

God speed.

In the Precious Name of Jesus,
Victor Wiebe

Roniya’s post was very helpful. I read all posts and (thank you Father) learned how to read all that anyone posts on SI (Advanced search: author). What a joy to see this burdened-for-God man find a focus for zeal with the prayer support here.

Without the background, Jarona, your post on David Hogan did not make the sense you must have intended. Again pointing out the need for reflection before posting (Thank you Monitor).

Oh my, what a thought to examine our selves through our posts, to see …I am totally broken to think that we are all there is of Him in flesh and blood walking on this earth. One more reason to cry out for revival. How miserable a servant I am. Though I love Him, know Him and hunger to know Him ever more. I think how He humbles Himself to indwell us. Over and over down the corridor of time. Building His Body must be like building a time machine with acorns, hairpins, and discarded toothbrushes. Without confidence in God I would not type another stroke in this post. Sorry, I’ve lost it again. I don’t think I’m one for writing when He has my heart like this.

My heart is to say something helpful. Hard as it might be with our flesh, whatever man’s response is (many saved, no response) taking all to God to hear from Him, before and after is a fruitful way. Jesus showed me that in His Word. Those that labor years without immediate fruit showed me. Those that neglected that and fell to being puffed-up showed me that. I can have confidence in God with you Jarona and with anyone here on SI.

Much as I dislike long posts, I include here part of what I learned studying Matthew, which says this so much better. Its just from lessons He makes alive in my life that I wish I could more faithfully write out. God used this last year. This is a cut-and-paste from my personal stuff so ….I too am always finding errors.

For those in Christian leadership: I have seen a unique sort of depression among pastors, cyclic and some times chronic, when they have not guarded their heart, the new heart that our Lord has enlarged in them. The heart of the issue is thinking on achieving something, a response/goal. This is not thinking on serving. The shift in thinking can be subtle. Sometimes they even think that they are nothing, that they have failed God, if they do not achieve this thing. The change that is needed here has a death of self in it that can be overlooked. The servant simply serves when he brings his Lord the sword. He does not guess, or purpose the objective of the sword. His Lord called for it and he brought it. The servant does not wield it. His Lord does. He has obeyed and he awaits his next direction from his Lord. His joy is in the Lord. What is important for the servant is to know what sword his Lord has called for. That is the servant’s joy-filled gift, given to know and enabled hear. When the battle is hot, the Lord rejoices to call the servant who faithfully brings the very sword He has called for. It is a great release and relief to be a servant. Think on that rather than achieving something that has come to your mind, looking to the response of people to see if you have achieved your goal, and assessing yourself that way. For example: The Lord is Almighty and Good: the Almighty and Good Lord equips His servants to serve. He called for this sword and I brought it and I stand ready for His next call. This is a, “Yes Lord, what’s next?” of revival.”

(Is that our dear Jarona?)

Correlate. Knowing that I am not your judge and the great relief of that which releases Divine Love to others, I know that you are not my judge. This assists anyone to restore me when it is needed. There is little flesh-defending uproar. None of this depends on the other person. Of course, there is even less uproar if truth is spoken in Love. Because we do not always know our heart or the heart of others it is important to take what is given straight to God who delights in our growth and cleansing, and to respond according to His Word. Lesson: Noticing and taking care how we hear accelerates the death of self.”

Jarona, I have only little reality experience (read “reality experience” as “application of the Word of God”) when it comes to demons (I prefer the word “imps”). It was not dramatic. In general, as the Light of the Word of God becomes intense in application, any “imps”, if they were there, left. I learned this witnessing hospitalized “schizophrenic” stop being “schizophrenic” after applying the Word of God, dealing with sin as sin, our sin nature, and our new nature (as I had) and not as a spirit of something to be cast out. I am not clear about what else was involved here. Ordinary prayer, the presence of God... I write this because you posted about Schizophrenia. As a mental state it does not seem all that different in kind from those not diagnosed. The need is the same. Without the Mind of Christ, what contact with reality can there be? (Sorry, drifting off topic) Of course, a mental hospital is NOT where you are.

You will love David if you meet him in Burma.

Mike,

I will take the time off to examine myself... I am definitely not humbled or broken over this, which shouldn't be so (regardless of the facts), and my speech has indeed lacked in grace. I can say no more presently...

Hello, Jaron, When I started reading your post I remembered a young Christian lady who once went on a missions trip to Rwanda with YWAM. As a reporter, I wanted to write a profile about her experience for the local newspaper, and so I asked her to email me a summery of her trip.

Well, there was little in her email that I could use because it was filled with language that meant nothing to the general public. Also, it said little about what she really did there. For example, “Street ministry” means nothing. It may actually conjure up ideas of Moonies on street corners doing their religious thing. So, I phoned her and encouraged her to share her experience as is - without the use of “shop talk” – that is, language that was familiar to her church peers.

We ended up with lots of great content for an article – information that would touch not only church people, but the public too. The most stirring aspect of the article had to do with how she was affected by being among the people in Rwanda.

And so I would say to you too, from God’s perspective, the purpose of your overseas trip may have much more to do with your own growth than merely with your “ministry”.

And by the way, I know what you mean in your use of military language, because in my past I have been in an environment where this kind of talk was used. However, if I were to use it now, I would horrify people, causing them to imagine ultra political rightwingers who have merged aggressive politics and force with religious zeal. So I would not use this. It would just build walls. Also, we want to remember that we are called to be meek and gentle.

We must be violent and aggressive to lay hold of the things of God and aggressivley confront and destroy the works of the devil and take territory for Christ and see a harvest of souls

Now, I am honoured to pray for you. Of course, it is as the Lord leads, which may not necessarily be as you set forth here. That’s the way it is with prayer. “Not my will, but thine be done.” Can you accept that?

This is where the Lord seems to guide me at the moment:

14For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Eph. 3

PS: You may wish to check Eph. 3 to discover “this reason”.

The bible says the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. Our brother here because he is aware of the enemy, he is talking about spiritual warfare praying. If you will go back to his original post you will see that he talked about being humble and submitting to God's will.

I felt a needed to say something. I know brother Jaron never thought that his request for prayer would be taken the way some have taken it.

I know he is thankful for those who are praying for Him. I hope Brother Jaron the Lord would bring you to my mind to pray for you when necessary. I do pray the Lord will fulfill his work in you to his glory.

Many times people are mislead because of the way language used. Some are intellectually gifted writers, others write with the words they know.

May God helps us (including myself) to understand the spirit behind what is written.

I know brother Jaron never thought that his request for prayer would be taken the way some have taken it.

Of course not! Perhaps this is a wee bit of preparation for the cross-cultural experience – where sensitivity to how one's message is being perceived is of utmost importance. This has always been a challenge for missionaries.
