Christ Qualifies Both As Saviour And Judge of MankindJesus Christ qualifies as the judge of all mankind. The tears that He shed, the pains that He suffered, and the grief that He bore made Him not only just, but a sympathetic judge of mankind.I don’t want to be judged by an archangel who never shed a tear.I don’t want to be judged by a seraphim who never felt a pain.I don’t want to be judged by a cherub who never knew human grief or disappointment or woe.The judge of mankind must be one of us—identified with mankind, for Jesus said the Father has given the Son power to execute judgment because He is the Son of Man.Thus, He can be not only their advocate above, the Saviour by the throne of love, but He can be their judge to sit upon the throne of love, also.So, because He is the Son of Man, He has authority to execute judgment.There will be no dodging, no whimpering, no whining, no crying on our wrists, and saying, “But, Lord, You don’t understand me!”He does understand, because He became one of us, and walked among us.There never was a tear that He didn’t shed, never a bitter disappointment that He didn’t feel, never a grief that He didn’t suffer, never a temptation that did not come to Him, never a critical situation with which He did not wrestle.Which is He going to be for you—Saviour or Judge? He will the one or the other.I, for my part, can’t afford to face Him as my Judge; I must have His protecting blood, and face Him as my Saviour.He knows too much about me for me to dare to brazenly barge into His presence and let Him judge me.Scripture tells us of certain ones who have sent their sins on before to the judgment.You can send your sins on before to judgment, have them judged and settled and disposed of now, while you are still on earth.The Saviour will cover your sins—cover them!An old brother said: “If Jesus Christ had covered our sins with His life, when they took His life away they would have been exposed. But He covered them with His death, and by His death He forever put my sins where they cannot be found, under the blood of the everlasting covenant.”Do you believe it? You certainly have powerful control over your emotions!I get blessed when I get to thinking about these things! “Believing, we rejoice, to see the curse removed; we bless the Lamb with cheerful voice, and sing His dying love!”
