British Reject Ban on Spanking of Kids

LONDON (AP) - British lawmakers on Monday voted against a ban on parents spanking their children, and decided instead to tighten existing rules. After a three-hour debate in the House of Lords, peers rejected the ban by 250 votes to 75. Instead, they voted by 226-91 to allow moderate spanking, but make it easier to prosecute parents who physically or mentally abuse their children by spanking. The amendment must be approved by lawmakers in Parliament's lower chamber, the House of Commons, before becoming law. Britain is out of step on the issue with several European countries, including Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Austria, where all physical punishment of children is illegal.

This might seem like un-noteworthy news but I think its of signifigant value. I was listening actually to a Keith Daniel sermon where he was recalling a story about a man who was trying to hold back his daughter with tears in his eyes, keeping her from going out. For he knew she was taking drugs and as you see the group of druggies beckoning her out as he trys to hold her back, not hit, just physically hold her back from destroying her life with drugs and abuses. But sadly what happened was that daughter sued her father for abuse and won.That is an sad example of lawlessness and that children doing what they want to rebelling against God and parental authority. We should pray that Countries will maintain some of their moral law so that its not a choas of sorts.
