1Pe 2:11 - Show Context
Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

Being in this world with all the troubles that surround us, give me such a desire just to leave this world and be with our saviour as Pilgrims on this earth we should have our eyes on heaven such as Steven and Paul

Col 3:1 - Show Context
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

Col 3:2 - Show Context
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

We live in a world that draws are eyes to itself with Temptations that abound but concentrating on the Heavenly city and Jesus! Is our only hope as it is our home, we belong there and not here!
Whether we are staying in scotland or in India,
are home is with are saviour.
Like me I want to get there as soon as possible, but in gods time!
My friend Jim always used to quote this verse to me.
Heaven is waitng for us and it does not accept those in verse 8, we need Jesus!

Revelation 21:1-8
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, F111 saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, F112 "Write, for these words are true and faithful." 6 And He said to me, "It is done! F113 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, F114 and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, F115 abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Amen, brother!

And this is why I love to read the book of Revelation - I do it periodically. The "woes" do not bother me at all. But just take a look at chapter 1 - notice how Jesus appears to John and how he falls down as a dead man? (I know I would, too). But then Jesus comes along and says ""Do not be afraid!" Don't you just love that?

Now go to chapter 4 - read it and savor it. This is one beautiful place.

Yes, if you can read Revelation and it does not whet your interest in heaven, there must be something wrong wid ye!

Blessings,
ginnyrose
