Looking for eBooks...

Hello!

I recently purchased a new cell phone/PDA device. It has Windows Mobile 6.1 and has both MS Word Mobile and Adobe Reader preinstalled. It is the HTC Touch.

I have been looking for some good eBooks that can be played in these formats (but preferably for the Adobe Reader). I thought that I had seen a thread about eBooks somewhere...but I couldn't find it with the SEARCH feature. I am looking for some good books of the faith.

I can certainly convert existing books from Word or even Adobe into the format that could be easily read for a pocket PC or PDA. However, it can be a little time consuming -- and there would be no need if certain books are already available somewhere.

I have noticed that books that are designated for the iPhone are compatible and work well. I've already downloaded a King James version of the Bible and a nifty concordance. But I was hoping to find a few Ravenhill-like books. I am certainly open to suggestions too!

Any suggestions? Anyone know where I can find some good eBooks? Thanks!

I don't really know how these devices work so forgive me if I am giving you useless info.

For books in PDF format written by John Bunyan try[url=www.johnbunyan.org]JOHN BUNYAN[/url]

or you could also try: [url=www.spurgeon.org]CHARLES SPURGEON[/url]
With this Spurgeon website you may need to copy and paste the books and create the PDF yourself.

If these two work they will be worth doing since Bunyan and Spurgeon are always good reading.

www.CCEL.org (has many Christian classics in a lot of different Christian classics)

You can also check out archive.org or books.google.com for books that are out of copyright... ie. older books by Spurgeon, Moody, Muller etc.

hey brother, i have not same phone as you, but same kind of sofware so i also have a bunch of e-books, i have found it easier to read in Word format brother, since you need zoom in and out with pdf reader, with word you can change the font size to comfortable reading format.

it is same as e-sword and it gives you a strongs, websters, matthew henry, 20 bibles , thayers , well an entire library in your pocket.

also, you can if you have microsoft word on your computer, make your own e-books, let say you find some good article sermon on SI or wherever, you just copy that and paste it into word document, and put it on your phone and voila!

I am blessed by this response! I've been looking for eBooks that are already in a size format compatible with PDAs, cell phones and iPods. This way, like our brother explained, I don't have a "zoom in" problem. I've found a few that are designated for the new iPhone and iPod, but they work fine on my HTC Touch cell phone.

Thank you all for this. I am beginning to look through the websites. I will probably download some and simply convert them into MS Word documents or resized PDFs.

If you know of any other websites offering eBooks (particularly for those already prepared for such devices), please let me know. Thanks!

I saw the pocket e sword link, and I use this on my pocket pc as well, but you can add to your library by adding Olive Tree Bible Software, with the reader. You get other Bibles not included in Pocket E Sword and a lot of free E Books written by people like Andrew Murray, Charles Finney, etc...
