be not moved away from the hope of the gospel

After meditating some on the works of the believer, the sanctifying process and what comes out of true saving faith, God showed me this verse today.

Col 1:29 Whereunto [b]I[/b] also [b]labour, striving[/b] according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

It speaks to me, that the more we allow Gods grace to work, yield to HIM the more we will be sanctified, freed from sin

[i] The duty of those who are interested in this redemption: If you continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you have heard, Col_1:23. We must continue in the faith grounded and settled, and not be moved away from the hope of the gospel; that is, we must be so well fixed in our minds as not to be moved from it by any temptations. We must be stedfast and immovable (1Co_15:58) and hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, Heb_10:23. Observe, We can expect the happy end of our faith only when we continue in the faith, and are so far grounded and settled in it as not to be moved from it. We must not draw back unto perdition, but believe unto the saving of the soul, Heb_10:39. We must be faithful to death, through all trials, that we may receive the crown of life, and receive the end of our faith, the salvation of our souls, 1Pe_1:9.[/i]
