Jesus cost him alot for our salvation, his place in heaven, being like one of us, dying on the cross and becoming a suffering servant
Do we count the cost of being a christian?
In todays soeciety is it what can god do for me rather than what can I do for Jesus.
Php 3:8 - Show Context
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
Paul counted all his material possessions, a small cost to pay for the excellency of knowing Jesus!
I am so far away from winning Christ.
I have given up allot of things. Are we prepared to give up things so we can win Christ.
I was prepared to give up watching TV and listening to non Christian music, ipods and other things, friendships.
What are you prepared to give up so that you may know Christ more intimately?

Abraham was willing enough to get out of nation, toungue, kidred which are all things dear.
