A song that has been a blessing to me

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in Jesus' name! I came across this song a while back and wanted to share it with you all...

------------------------------------------

Lord, as of old at Pentecost Thou didst Thy pow'r display,
With cleansing purifying flame, descend on us today.

Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power!
Thy floodgates of blessing on us throw open wide!
Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power,
That sinners be converted, and Thy name glorified!

For mighty works for Thee prepare and strengthen every heart;
Come take possession of Thine own, and never more depart.

Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power!
Thy floodgates of blessing on us throw open wide!
Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power,
That sinners be converted, and Thy name glorified!

All self consume, all sin destroy! With earnest zeal endue
Each waiting heart to work for Thee; O Lord, our faith renew!

Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power!
Thy floodgates of blessing on us throw open wide!
Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power,
That sinners be converted, and Thy name glorified!

Speak, Lord! before Thy throne we wait, Thy promise we believe
And will not let Thee go until the blessing we receive!

Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power!
Thy floodgates of blessing on us throw open wide!
Lord, send the old-time power, the Pentecostal power,
That sinners be converted, and Thy name glorified!

It's been on my heart to get back to "Biblical Christianity" and this song came at a very opportune time to speak to my heart... We do need revival, but i think it should really be termed "Getting back to normal Christianity", 'cause that's where it starts.

We sometimes pray for revival, and just hope that God will drop it into our laps... Seems to me that the church in Acts lived revival, but it was simply normal Christianity for them... I'm not saying not to pray for revival, but i think we sometimes want to put the cart before the horse...

Lord, bring us to the place of yielded-ness, so much so that we may be used of You in the same way your church was then in the accounts given in Acts...

God's peace be with you all, and let's continue to pray for all those effected by the hurricane "Ike"
