Books that God has used to change my life (besides His inspired Word)

There are some books that I've read which God has used to restore and renew my passion for Him and for the Gospel. I started this thread to see which ones He has used to touch your lives. I'll never forget one day, at the library at my Bible college, I came upon a book called "Why Revival Tarries", by Leonard Ravenhill. I sat down and drank deep of the conviction of the Holy Spirit dealing with me. I've read and reread it since, along with other works by Ravenhill. I was so provoked to pray, fast, and just seek the face of God. Since then, I've been discovering the writings of the Puritans and others. It's amazing, although these men are dead, yet they still preach to our souls. And I've noticed that there are few books written today that are even close to as 'deep' into the Word and God's Spirit as those written by men (and women) of old.

I will guess that "Why Revival Tarries" is at the top of a lot our list. It's close to or at the top of my list. You just can't hardly get through a chapter without having to close the book and pray. I member remember reading this book and describing the experience as "drinking gas and swallowing a match", since then I have heard other describe it in similar terms. One of these days I'm going to write a lenghty post regarding my encounters with Ravenhill's material. His impact on my life has been great.Keep Reading, Praying and Growing.Hungry for more,PJ
