sermonindex Oct 5, 2008

Saints,

I have a opportunity to preach at a evangelical free church this morning. please pray for me as I share the word of God. I feel a liberty to preach on the "end times". I will be preaching in about 4 hours.

thank you.

thank you saints, it went well. I preached for 1 hour and a half on the end times. I am definitely not a dynamic preacher at this point but thank God I am burdened for the things of God.

I didn't see this in time to pray for it, but I praise God for the opportunity that He gave you, brother, and for the help and grace He gave you in your preaching.

Here is some info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evangelical_Free_Church_of_America

The Swedish Evangelical Free Church and the Norwegian-Danish Evangelical Free Church Association merged in June of 1950 to form the Evangelical Free Church of America. The merger conference took place at the Medicine Lake Conference Grounds near Minneapolis, Minnesota. The two bodies represented 275 local congregations at the time of the merger.

Thank God and rejoice brother - if you dont have a charismatic anointing !! I told God one day i want to have a similiar anointing that all the big platform names out there have - AS i dont have an anointing like that ...i said to the Lord!

But the reply i got somewhat shocked me:

In essence the still small voice said this in reply: trust me you don't want that kind of anointing - stephen!!!!!!

Smile. Whenever one ask God how one can help in something or do something, it involves sacrifices some of which one may not really want to do so. That's why I am now more careful to not just jump at asking God how I can help in anything/everything that I see.

Leonard Ravenhill said something like this in his sermon. There were some people who had ruined their physical and/business lives by asking God for prayer lives and God took them at their word. See the below video (last few minutes of 1st video and 1st few minutes of 2nd video)
