Does anyone know anything about Joyce Mejer to watch out for?

B

I have heard many people say how great she is but what do you guys know. One thing i do know is that she shouldn't be preaching to the whole congregation, only the women, but what do you all know so i can know. Besides all that money she makes too.

I would suggest researching this discretely on your own first, unless she is preaching heresy or is a false prophet.

Until that time, it is best to refrain from libel.

I think she really is not in the line of biblical preachers and I have not added her to SermonIndex for many reasons.

she is tied in with the word-faith and prosperity teachers which is really bad. I suggest you listen to this:

I don't think we can speak against someone making money but only how it is stewarded.

Yes, I have checked her out as well. Take the advice given from the brethren here.

To be completely honest with you, I have watched her a few times and she has Blessed me many times with her Sermons. I am not condoning her as a Preacher which I personally don't categorize her as anyway, I feel she is a Bible teacher.

I will say I sure would rather hear her teachings, than some of the many "men" false prophets I see on the tube. I really have a problem with folks like Mike Murdock, Where in the Bible does it say that if you send $58 to Mike Murdock that God will bless that by saving your marriage or helping you get a new boat?

Rather than sending that money to Mike Murdock, would you please give it to a real charity that will use the money to feed the poor instead of wealthy charlatan televangelists?

Maybe watching the TV is the main issue here :-P

A lot has been discussed here about Joyce Meyer. She is perhaps one of the most dangerous false teachers out there. Avoid her completely.

1.??? Still Thinking :-)
2.
3.
hey, everyone I have though of I goggled and they have all had there bad feedback, but I am still thinking, maybe all the really good ones have already gone home.

C'mon brother Bill... sarcasm? Really? I would never use sarcasm on this forum! ;-) :-P

Seriously tho, Joyce Meyer's gross false doctrines and teachings have been very well documented on this forum, as well as many other discernment ministries. It's not just "feedback" or people talking about her... her own words condemn her. Period.

Joyce Meyer is a word of faith teacher.
and teaches E.W. Kenyon teachings about Jesus suffering in hell to redeem us, and not the death on the cross that did it.
Alot of other t.b.n teachers say the same things.
Check out this website and read her quotes for yourself.
http://forgottenword.org/meyers.html

If you Also go to www.so4j.com
you can read up on other quotes and source material on her and many other teachers on the web.
The intention on doing some recearch would be to equip yourself to recognize what bad or unbiblical teaching sounds like and so when you hear it you will recognise it for what it is and be able to exercise Romans 16:17
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

I hope this helps, but remember this though, it is possible someone may have repented from past teachings, but not likely. Keep a spirit of prayer towards these people and dont get negative. Its better not to listen and find good preaching instead.
God bless.

But ol' 88 will put him in the wall. If he doesnt, then you can always count on Tony!

Some friends of ours had a recent experience with Joyce Meyer and her ministry. Both are young Christians and they decided to go to one of her healing services in California.

As the service started Joyce was full of herself, not Christ. She boasted of her private plane, her homes and cars, etc.etc. etc. and preached that everyone could have these same things- "ye have not because ye ask not".

Not long after her intro they passed the plate for an offering, before the healing service. Only it wasn't an offering plate, it was an offering bucket! Not one bucket, but hundreds of buckets.

After this introduction, they got up and left, and never waited for the "healing" service.

2nd Timothy 3 warns of people like Joyce:

2 Timothy 3:1-5

1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Sincerely,

Walter
:-D

I dont seem to recall Jesus and the disciples passing the buckets around before healing people... He just healed people... period.

In fact, when crowds gathered... instead of taking their money, He fed them.

The only mentions of money & religion in Jesus life had to do with Judas stealing money, and Judas being paid off to betray Jesus... and Jesus whipping the money changers (assault & battery by todays standards) and overturning their tables.

When Jesus told stories involving money it always had to do with forgiving debts, and giving unto God... not taking money to put fuel in private jets and calling it "godly".

Kinda funny how we've gotten to where we are today.

Wow! How little I knew of JM. I appologize for speaking on someone I did not know about. :-)

Uhmmm... yea we can. How they make the money (referring to JM and other WOF teachers) is the crux of the problem. They distort, twist and lay waste to the Word of God in order to make their money.

You need to learn about the whole Word of Faith Movement... it's corrupt and evil.
