Lately I've been meditating on the fact that God is Lord, King, and Father to us. It just totally amazes me that He would be all those to us. What a mighty God we serve!
What really struck me however, was the fact that even though God jealously guards over these titles, the one He appears to most zealously guard is Father.
And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
Out of the three titles, you would think that God would forbid us to call someone else either lord or king, but no, it's the title of father, which He jealously guards.
In our trying to keep the holiness and sovereignty of God we losing something due to our human minds. We place all the empahsis on lordship and kingship, but forget that God places much importance on His role of a Father to us. Remember, He's your Father! Hope you're as blessed as I was by this thought.
