T.D. Jakes???????

what are your opinions on T.D. Jakes - apologetics surround his doctrinal issue with the the " Oneness Doctrine" but what about the rest of his ministry?

T.D. Jakes, besides being Oneness, embraces every form of Word-Faith and Latter Rain doctrines. He is very quiet on his theology; however, if you are able to catch him when he appears on TBN "praise-a-thons" you will find he can preach the "name it-claim it" doctrine as good as the rest. He does say some positive things about relationships. But this just candycoats the poison. I would not recommend that anyone listen to him. In Christ,Jeremy Hulsey

I didn't know he "embraced every form of Word-Faith and Latter Rain doctrines" or "Oneness" doctrine, but I do know that I have been encouraged and blessed by watching him preach.

Todd, my question to you is how did his preaching effect you and why?

It has been awhile since I saw him on t.v. but I remember him getting me really excited about God and encouraging me and stirring up faith and love in me. The "why" is hard to determine. I think it often has more to do with us than the preacher. Without the right attitude and mind we will not be able to enter into the blessing of many things, including preaching/teaching. If we try to enter in with a negative mind, looking for faults and errors, we won't be blessed but probably get bogged down by sin. We are exhorted to examine everything carefully, and hold to that which is good (not bad). With that attitude and in that state of mind your heart is free to recieve the blessing of what is being spoken of or what is happening. I find it an unfruitful experience when I go into things with a negative and nit-picky mindset. God can so easily put a shade over our eyes and not allow us to see and enter into blessings because we are prideful instead of humble.
