Get Over Yourself

sermonindex Nov 1, 2008

I am "over myself', that's why I preach the Truth boldly without any regard to my safety or need for man's favour.

I know for a fact I've shared nothing but Truth here. Those same articles I've shared here, I've had nothing but possitive feed-back from.

I haven't even gotten close to the stuff that got me banned. Big deal! They'll put you out of their churches...thinking their doing God a service. And I'm deceived....look in the mirror...of God's Word. See where you fit in.

Which Scriptures are YOU fulfilling?

You sound quite bitter.

This may not help Mr. Anonymous, but I offer it in the hope it might be of some little help here. Would you mind listening to the sermon 10 Indictments? Its posted all over this site. A lot will not be unfamiliar to you. Could you tell me if you hear any difference between what you say and what is said in this message?

I know it is hard to hear the heart of someone when all you have are typed words. All I can type is that this is a real question.

Mr. A, I do not question your sincere desire to know truth and defend it. I give you that. However if I may point out a few concerns.

Do you know that the founding leaders of Mormon's , The Watch Tower, Islam etc. All have said at least two things that you are now saying.

1. That the doctrine of the Godhead is false.

2. That all the denominations are corrupt and do not hold to the truth.

This always acompanies the man headed away from the biblical and historic truth of God to the very thing they cried out against,"mens doctrines".

Though you may not recieve this now I say to you that you are there establishing mens doctrines, your doctrines as Gods.

I don't know what has gotten you to this place. I hope however that you will somehow humble yourself and be willing to start fresh and honestly re look at who you really are and what your really saying. Please for your sake and many others.
Hope to speak in future, John.

Hi...

I'm not sure who actually wrote the initial post. Yet I would say that I sense quite a bit of "self" in this single post! I would urge this brother or sister to get alone with God and pray that all of self is released.

This is healthy for all of us. None of us have "arrived," and we can all use a dose of godly humility. May God rid us of the selfish human nature that causes us to want our way! May we get alone with God, see Him for who He really is, and then approach people with this humbling knowledge!

Perhaps I have the wrong Mr.A?

Well said, thingsabove, thank you.

At least two other points I would like to mention,

3. "Progressive revelation" is the foundation for being blown about by every wind of doctrine, exalts itself above the authority of Scripture and, in that same regard, considers the Scriptures as insufficient. The Gospels according to the disciples as insufficient!

Luke 1
1.
Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile an account of the things accomplished among us,
2. just as they were handed down to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word,
3. it seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus;
4. so that you may know the exact truth about the things you have been taught.

2 Timothy 3
12.
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
13. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14. You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15. and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
17. so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

The Testimony we have received of God, the Bible, is wholly sufficient for all who would live a godly life in the power of our Lord Jesus' resurrection.

4. The "foundational doctrine" -- foundational, no less -- that the "serpent" had physical (carnal) intercourse with Eve and bore Cain is bonkers (so bizarre I am using English terms!) And I quote,

The denial of serpent seed...Cain being the physical offspring of the serpent.

So exactly when did this happen?

Genesis 4
1.
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

So, is Adam then the "serpent"? Or are you speaking of another Cain; or shall I say, another gospel?
