Autumn leaves

The leaves in my part of the country are just spectacular this fall. The Blue Ridge Mountains are not so blue at the moment... they are more like orange, red, yellow & gold.

I went out to get some coffee this morning as the sun was coming up, and God just opened my eyes to my surroundings... and what an artist God is! Only He can put that many colors together and make them look beautiful, and not tacky.

If you live within driving distance of western North Carolina I would recommend you take a day and come here and take in the majestic beauty of the fall leaves.

A few years ago we traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway. It took a little adjusting to to get your speed down slow enough to be legal, but once you accomplished it and relaxed, it was so beautiful.

Yea, I got a speeding ticket on the Parkway once. The speed limit is 45 along 99% of it... slower in a couple spots. I got written up for 57 in a 45. And guess what! Get a ticket on the Parkway and you get to go to [b]federal[/b] court, not the county judge. They dont cut you any slack in federal court.

lol... but one really does need to slow down and take in the view. I happened to be using the Parkway as a short cut that day. I learned my lesson.

On our way home from the revival conference we came down part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the beauty of the foliage was breathtaking. It was so relaxing driving along there and worshiping the Creator of such beauty.

We spent the night in Asheville and woke up the next morning to discover that it was snowing. The radiant color of the leaves in contrast to the whiteness of the snowflakes was lovely.

It amazes me how much beauty there can be in leaves dying and falling to the ground. Yet even they give testimony to the awesome power and wisdom of the Lord in creating this world.

Ah yes! It did snow... you're right. It was the earliest snow since 1924.

It's in the 70's today. If you dont like the weather here in the mountains just wait 5 minutes... it'll change. ;-)
