Need some help from more mature saints

Hi
I have s situation that I could use some advice and prayer on. My sister and her only daughter(Chrisy) have not spoken to each other in the past 4 years.Chrisy is married and has a son that my sister knows about. There are a lot of reasons for them not talking. My sister was always very manipulative with her daughter. Used a lot of emotional manipulation to get her way and a lot of anger and threats. I think my niece always resented this and finally just had enough.

My sister always asks me if I have heard from Chrisy and I do once in a while but it is usually just a few lines in a email saying that she is fine. Well about a month ago I accidentally bumped into my niece at the store and found out some things about her life that she does not want my sister to know. She still wants no contact with her parents and hopes to move out of the state soon. My dilemma is my sister keeps calling and asking if I have heard anything new from Chrisy. I don't know how to handle this. I have tried to share with my niece about this not speaking with her mom and dad but she says that she is so much better mentally and physically now that her mothers manipulation is out of her life that she will not listen.

Should I keep her secret and not tell my sister that I have heard from her daughter or should I just tell her everything and risk having my niece find out and closing all doors completely?

Thank for any help

rainydaygirl,

I am very familiar with the problem you share here and am still trying to figure out how to deal with it successfully.

Now you are in a position to function as a peacemaker. Don't you just love that job?! Too many times emotions run high, strong and deep where rational conversations are not possible. So, how do you deal with it?

You know what, I think this conversation would be best discussed privately, so if you want, PM me. Know how to do it? On the bottom of this post there will be a PM button, click on it and a small window will pop up; there you can type in your message and click submit or send - forget which - and I will find it in my message box.

God bless you!

I'm new on this site. I did share a similar situation in my family under "help for you and your sister".

Blessings!

Mitz
