a need of prayer

T
Totality Dec 7, 2008

Please, I need help, His help. I am praying and reading, but I seem to be going this life without a friend or brother. I really need prayer and fellowship. My church has seemed to turn from me and I don't know what to do... will someone please help me?

Hello Totality,

Did not want to reply to your other post and avoid your request for prayer and fellowship. I can say you are in luck because He can and will help you if you are turning to him in sincerely, confessing, repenting and turning from your sins.

Since there is now way to know the nature of your distress or the rational for your Church turning from you, there is no way to help east those problems.

Do you have any family member who is a follower of Jesus? If so, even if you may be estranged from them, I suggest you go to them, if there is hard feelings, sincerely ask forgiveness and go from there.

If you have no family or friend, you are not alone where ever you are He has promised to never leave you.

Do you have a Bible? I suggest starting reading the King James Version. Read the whole thing, cover to cover. It doesn't matter if at first you do not understand everything. If you pray for Wisdom the understanding will come.

Hope this helps, please check back, others will probably answer, too. They may say things better them me, I am practicing this.

Kind regards,
white stone

thank you for your help.

To explain my distress:

During the months following my conversion *May 2, 2008*, I had a zeal for Him and preaching His word and I did, but I realized that what I was teaching was questionable at best. So I remained silent for a little while. But when church camp came around, my youth pastor wanted me to preach for the "Men in Ministry" part. But I didn't want to, I quickly became angry at him and eventually caved in and preached a 15 minute sermon. In this sermon I did not give my words to God but rather to the enemy. He soon twisted the words of the Gospel to a wicked and corrupt lesson on salvation. My youth pastor, Russel, took away my privilege to preach again *understandable* and then just stopped talking to me for a while. And only recently has he begun to talk and help me again, but my church youth group has yet to forgive me.

My parents are divorced and neither one of them are His, but my brother Miguel is. I talk to him daily and he honestly encourages me to follow Him, even though he is my younger brother.

I do have a Bible, and more than one. I have a KJV, NKJV, ESV, NIV, and another that I can't remember the version of. I prefer ESV, but I do want the NASB. I just downloaded the "Read in 26 days" file from another thread and plan to expand that from 26 days to a lil longer, so that I understand what I read.

thank you for replying.

In Christ,
Max

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I did repent of that sin, and am to this day afraid to share Christ to the lost in fear that I might pervert the Gospel again.

This is why I need the prayer.

First of all, God Loves you beyond measure, I have all ready asked Him to send you comfort, either a brother or sister in the Lord , or His own, awesome presence, God Loves you just as you are and is already with you, Everyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved, from whatever you are going through. I see from your profile that you are in high school, I probably have a son around your age. Hang on and call His name, he has never failed me, even in my foolishness.

Love in Christ tom

Hi Max,

I will pray for your youth group that they will forgive you. I pray that restoration will take place within your church body and that God will cause whatever needs to happen, to happen, in order for that to occur. Sometimes it is good to ask, "Is there anything else I can do or say that will help in the area of restoration?" Sometimes there is, and sometimes the main thing is to continue praying. I believe that restoration and healing of relationships within the body of Christ, is something that is very close to the heart of God.

May God bless you and cause His face to shine upon you.

In Jesus,
John

Hi Max,

There are many brothers on this forum that are glad to pray with you and help you in anyway that they can.

I don't know that as a young Christian that it is a good idea for you to be teaching the Word at this time. Someone like you that is on fire for God and full of zeal can be used by the Lord in witnessing to others, but you should be on the milk of the Word right now, so that you can grow spiritually.

Brother, this is nothing but the enemy coming against you. Read Matthew 5 and pay close attention to verses 23 and 24. It is God's will that you forgive the brothers that are offended with you, go to them if neccessary to make things right. God's will is for you to be reconciled to these brothers.

God bless you brother! We are praying for you.

In His Love,

Mike

Thank you both for replying and praying.

@AbideinHim, I understood then that I shouldn't be preaching and which is why I was angry at my youth pastor, which ultimately caused my downfall. I will read it, thank you

But I have one question: Ever since this moment, I have been afraid to speak to anyone about Him, even those I know are His. Mostly because I am afraid I'll mess up like this again. How can I overcome this fear?

again, thank you for all your help

I agree with 'AbideinHim' and your thoughts as well. There are several occasions where conversions are followed by a desert experience of learning from God. (Paul for one) We are in much need of being reprogrammed.

I suggest you just immerse yourself in His word. Read the gospels, and the shorter letters of Paul and Peter etc.

Know that you have a support group here. Learn to be gracious and not bitter. It is all new with many conflicting thoughts. You won't get them all right, but just keep at it and stay focused on seeking God.

Satan is a liar. He will attempt to fill your mind with many distracting thougts. When he does, you will be very tempted to believe him because he is very good. He has been at it a long time. You will learn over time which of the thoughts are his. The sooner you do, the better. And when you do, it is very important to go to God and allow Him the opportunity to speak His truth. His truth dispells satan's lies. Many take the lies hook, line and sinker and never give God the chance to counter them.

All for now, gotta run.

Thank you for your kind words. I plan to take this advise right away. Today I'm going to read 5 chapters, then tomorrow even more and gradually get more and more added, while maintaining study and prayer.

Hi Totality,

i see you are a young convert with a lot of zeal. And already you have come into trouble. I want to assure you that everything in your life is in the divine hand of ALMIGHTY GOD.

You may make mistakes but the Lord will use them ALL for His and your good if you humble yourself. He loves you with incomprehensible love and will never forsake you. Stay close to Him. He is the mighty King and in his hands is all of this universe.

He will bring you through times of desert, trial and testing even most horrible seasons but for His glory and your good. He must recreate us and mature us and give us wisdom and a broken heart and a true understanding of who HE really is. That takes time and suffering. But be encouraged, He will bring you through and out with a shout of TRIUMPH on your lips and a song of praise in your heart and you will live for His glory and His bride and the poor and destitude.

Do not try to "do" so many things for Jesus...simply seek His face and presence and let him change you. Every "doing" must issue out of "being" and of the real knowledge of God.

Walk with Him, be patient, let him deal with you and he will surely bring you safely home into glory with much fruit.

But dont run out of your own ambitions, be patient and wait for Him!

He loves you
Daniel

Edit: this was meant to be a pm but so be it..:-)
