Some of the evidences of God's work in the soul,
are: a lively interest in the things which concern
our eternal welfare, a trembling at God's Word
and being suitably affected thereby, hatred of sin,
loathing of self, and a childlike love for the Lord.

Ah, we never prize Divine grace so much--as
when we have been afflicted by indwelling sin.
It is a sense of our pollution and filth--
which moves us to turn again to the Fountain
open for sin and for impurity!

Consider God. Consider the person of God.

How is it we do not have the hatred of sin that we should have.

When we read in Psalm 5v5, ...'You hate all workers of iniquity...', how can we toy with sin, or even the idea of it?

How we need to melt before God, and wail at our desire for sinful pleasures.

Lord, make us holy.

These are strong words from A.W. Pink. This reminds me of what I was just thinking about last night. I was thinking about the glorious book of Hebrews. I always marvel at its content because it is extremly Christological. Oh the majesty of Jesus. But the one thing that engaged my thoughts last night was one verse( Hebrews 1:9) which states

9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions."

This verse alone caused me to examine myself intensely asking the question do you HATE WICKEDNESS. These words reveal an essential
quality of Jesus and that quality is that he hates Wickedness/sin and loves righteousness. This should be the cry of our lives it should be our passion to hate sin,filth and the pollution it brings. Dear brothers and sisters please let us all not play with sin let us run from it in terror, hate it, abhor it. see it as the monster it is. Tt changed cherub into a Satan and man into a slave let us by Gods grace be empowered over its sway.

I think the biggest sin the Christian fights to overcome is that of pride.

Even after years of being a Christian, it is still there.

God tells us to humble ourselves, James 4v10, and we need to.

May God be glorified.
