The American church is clueless to what revival is. Revival to some churches are merely a series of evangelistic campaigns held during the week. The people excite themselves, prepare themselves and are zealous to see a ''move'' of God during the week. Then when it's all over they are back to living as lukewarm Christians. Others sincerely cry out for revival, and cry out for blessing, but don't realize that the purpose of a ''deep cryeth unto deep'' is that GOD might be glorified and exalted above men. The jealousy for Christ's supremacy in His church is lacking. If it was present in much of the American church, programs would be pushed aside, seminars would be canceled, and intercession would increase. Programs and seminars in and of themselves may be useful and edifying, but there must be more! Oh that we might be compelled by the love of God! Oh that we would know what Paul spoke of in 2 Corinthians having a godly jealousy for the bride to offer herself to Jesus as a pure virgin. We need this revelation. This lies at the heart of the church. The issue is God's glory. -Matt, 20 NYC
