computer problems

Sorry to say I am off the web for at least a while due to a "missing or corrupt windows file".

I would appreciate prayer - direction wisdom how to proceed 1) fix, or take a break (wash dishes in a more timely fashion) or 2.) replace my 1999 computer with a linux system laptop, 3.) no loss of precious documents, 4.) a way to continue my weekly "encouragement to prayer" insert in my church bulletin.

For me, being on the computer/web is like flying a jet plane with a bicycle license. :-) I can still occasionally use the local library timed web access, at one-hour/day, but not often. (I am so slow, I have 32 minutes left.)

If you can't get Windows fixed, im my opinion, Ubuntu or Xubunutu really is a good operating system.

Xubuntu may be better in your case since it is built with the purpose of running on slower computers.

With care in Christ,

I have a 98 Compaq that runs Windows 2000 Pro.
I discovered that the Windows Internet Explorer
program is self-repairing. Go to My Computer
then Control Panel. In the Control Panel there
will be add/remove programs. Click on it.
Scroll till you find the Internet Explorer
program. There will be two options--change
or remove. Click change. There will be a
box with two options--repair or remove. Try
repair. This has fixed Internet Explorer
problems most of the time for me. ;-)
