!!!EarthQuakes!!! or lack thereof, Has anyone else noticed this?

Recently I have been looking into the number of earthquakes around the world that have been occurring. To my astonishment, there has recently been a substantial decrease in the number of earthquakes since late October 2008 approximately one week before President Elect Obama won the election.

I have collected my data from IRIS.

What I did was to collect all data back to January 1, 2007 through today.
On average from 1/1/2007 through 10/27/2008 there was an average of about 40+ earthquakes each day around the globe that register magnitudes of 4.0 or greater. Then in the last week of October 2008 through to present day they have decreased to an average of about 10 per day dipping as low as only 2 in a single day.

I also noticed a spike occur on 5/12/2008 where there were 275 quakes registering 4.0 or greater in a single day.

I have Google’d myself silly not finding anything at all relating to this lull in earthquake activity as reported by IRIS.

I do have my own thoughts on this but thought I would bring it to your attention to get some discussion on the subject.

Scripture uses the analogy of a woman in travail to describe the last days, the natural disasters in particular. Do you understand this? When a woman is in labor to deliver a child there are pains, [usually] spaced early on by many minutes, like an hour and as it progresses, they come closer together. In between times you may feel nothing. Then WHAM! ouch! here is a bad one and you may groan or feel like screaming [but won't]. Then it will go away and no pain and so it continues getting closer together until there is constant pain and a push and a baby is born.

This is my take on this. I suggest we may be in for some terrible natural calamities. On the other hand, we are having some terrible things happen on the economic scene...and in between times things will calm down, just like a woman in travail to give birth.
