Devotional

regarding Praise

H
HIServant Jan 13, 2009

Devotional: “Psalms 106:1 “Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for HE is good: for HIS mercy endures forever.” Psalms 57:9 “I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

Psalms 89:5 “And the heavens shall praise THY wonders, O LORD: THY faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.” Psalms 98:4 “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”

Simply put, it takes more time to bemoan or complain about Life’s struggles than to praise HIM for all the blessings you have. It is the least our voices can do and yet we choose the path of GREATER resistance. May my dissent never be heard again! Amen and amen!

Succession’s Song

Praising HIM takes far less stress to achieve
than the goals for this life which are temporal – at best.
Unless one is centered on mentoring no one,
then whole shall they be and with zeal…no less!
Yea, FATHER! Hear our worship pleas!

For our voices sing “Choice is our Saviour…
who redeemed us from Death’s certain sting!
Whose “life giving” price was paid wholly indeed
by HIS blood which no other could bring!
Yea, FATHER! YOUR presence we savor!

Therefore! Join us…as such…with HIS praises
till your thoughts are consumed by GOD’s glory…alone!
Unless “nothing” means “something” to which you will cling;
then shall Joy overwhelming move you to HIS throne…
Yea, FATHER! For THOU art most gracious!

This is very true in my experience as well.

Perhaps comparing the burden that comes from letting heavy complaining and fear sit on the heart vs. the lightness that comes when hopeful trust carries the heart is one way to look at Jesus' promise “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Blessings,

MC
