We are warned not to add to nor take away from the word of God.
2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
It is clear from scripture that the longsuffering of our Lord is for salvation. Why does he need to be long suffering if he has already decided before they believe? The Lord is clear that men must believe in order to be saved.
But it is just like Peter said concerning Paul’s writings that many will wrest to their own destruction. When we add to the word of God and say something God has not said is when we get in trouble.
God is not the author of confusion. Men without understanding trying to teach others what the Lord didn't say always causes confusion.
