If I may ask for prayer for my dad, he had a major heart attack today and is in the hospital. He is not saved and so far has been unwilling to hear the truth. He holds to his Catholic faith and believes that will save him. He is 73 years old and has had a long history of heart disease and blocked arteries. The doctors have said they may not be able to do anything more for him. I ask that if you feel led to please pray that his heart would be softened to hear Biblical truth, that he would understand what it means to repent and follow Jesus and that Father would give me the words He would have me say to my dad. Time is running out for him. I will be talking with him first thing in the morning.

God Bless
MJ

Just wanted to come back and give an update. My dad is stable now and they have him on new medicines. They said that one of the main arteries to his heart is blocked but they can not do anything more surgically to try and repair it. They are keeping in the hospital for now to keep watch over him to make sure these medicines will do what they are suppose to. Basically they said there is nothing more for him that they can do but make him comfortable and wait. His heart could give out on him at anytime so they just want to make him comfortable. I did not have much time this morning to talk with him so I am going to again later today. When I brought up eternity to him he wanted to change the subject. Right now he is just so deceived into thinking that he is alright with God that he has no real clue. I am praying for that deception to be taken away and that he will see how desperately he needs Jesus.

Thank you everyone for your prayers it means so much to me.

God Bless you all
MJ

Dear Maryjane,

I will pray that he will not sleep well tonight as the Holy Spirit deals with him and brings his lostness to light. May the fear of judgement make him cry out to the Lord for mercy and forgiveness.

May you have just the right words. I often forget myself that God is working alongside us and is prompting and coaxing him to Jesus.

Kathleen

We have what we ask of Jesus. because He said so.
I am also remembering you and your father to Our Father.
Joh 11:40 Jesus answered her, Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?

against all that reason and logic may dictate
against all my feelings and apprehension
God's promises are Amen.

Dear Mary Jane,

Praying that Christ will empower you to share from your heart as you witness to your father. Praying that there may be joy in heaven as your father repents and believes and falls into the arms of Jesus. --Luke 15

Thank you all so much for your kind prayers. I wanted to let everyone know what is happening. They decided to send my dad home because there is nothing more then can do for him and he is happier being at home anyway. They were able to stabilize his blood pressure with new medicines at least. The doctors have said that they really can do nothing more for him but make him as comfortable as possible with pain medicine. His heart is to weak and he will not survive any kind of surgery to try to correct the arteries. His heart could give out on him at anytime, they just don't know at this point.

I tried to share with him again but he still remains unwilling to talk or hear anything that I have to share with him. The thing that is so difficult is that the deception he is believing is so strong. He really gets offended when you try to share any Biblical truth with him. He honestly believes that he is not that bad of person, that he has gone to confession, said his hail Mary's and lit his candles so he will be ok. He prays to the saints and feels at peace.

I know that its all in the Lords hands and that Father has extended so much mercy to my dad already. I am praying to know how to go forward with him now, in what ever time he may have left. I will keep praying and seeking Fathers heart in this as long as my dad has breath in his body.

Thank you again brothers and sisters for your prayers and for your encouragement.

God Bless you
MJ

MaryJane,

I have been praying for you and your family.

Tonight at Bible study we were looking at household salvation. It has been a big prayer focus of our church this year. I was greatly encouraged by the many Scriptures related to whole households believing. In hopes that this might help you as well, I wanted to share the Scripture references with you:

Exodus 12:3
Joshua 2:18-19
Genesis 7:1
Genesis 19:16
Acts 11:13-14
Acts 16:15
Acts 16:30-31
Acts 18:8
John 4:53

I was also very encouraged to realize that the passover was a family event.

May the Lord bless you with His peace.

Danielle
