Listen to a sermon from Paul Washer about Godly Fellowship.

What I wrote:
"Wonderful message by Paul Washer about true fellowship within the body of Christ. Going to church on Sunday's and maybe on Wednesday's doesn't mean you are in church or evening having fellowship. It is silly to say that we are going to church...when we are the church. What kind of fellowship can you have in church? Usually we are sitting in pews for an hour, shake some hands in between breaks and then when it is over you go home or maybe even out to lunch!? You may find that you were in "church" in a meaningful way when you were at lunch with other families of the faith. You may find that you were greatly encouraged in that fellowship, verses...going to "church." Don't know about you, but I have had wonderful times of encouragement and ministry through the oddest and unconventional places of fellowshipping with with other believers. Not to knock going to church, but we have been ingrained that if you are not "going to church" then you are lost, backslidden, and not having fellowship. We have been handed down years of tradition, and when we break from those traditions many are attacked because they may not be in a building or they have home church. Understanding that it is more than likely for the lack of understanding and ignorance of what true fellowship is."

Article that is written from the perspective of "tradition" to rebuke mine.

Reformer,

Your article was correct, his was typical rhetoric for one whose religion is bound up in ordinances.

Brother,

Praying you find at least another Christian couple to go feed the poor and have Bible study with down there. This is how are little fellowship got started. Just a couple of people who got sick of playing church and started being the Church. This is a great threat to the modern religous institution so do not expect many to smile upon you on your journey.

With all that being said, the wilderness may be your ordained place for a season, but it is no place to stay and surely if you are longing for fellowship with true saints the Lord will not turn away your prayer.

I wrote these words for the edification of others, but I also sent you a PM.

in Christ - Jim

I thank God He has placed me in a church where the word is preached. Let me say it did not come without a price and still is. To have fellowship with brothers and sister with a like heart for the word is a gift of God. Two weeks ago we had a pastors conference and in that I come to find out there are so many areas that a true church is not to be found. My heart goes out to these brothers and sisters. I want you to know there are chirstians praying for all of you. We are all of the same body in chirst and will sit at the same table one day.
