We can make anything into a idol and do. I know this from my own life. The other day I heard a sermon on idolatry that hit home. The preacher talked about how we can make idols out of men of God. That we can spend more of our time following these men than in the word of God. These are godly men, but we lift them up to high sometimes. I find myself many times reading a book when I should be reading the word. They are good godly book and I have learned much from them. God has layed on my heart that I need to spend more of my time in His word . I had been looking to others in what God had shown them and not looking to God in His word to see what He wanted to show me. I repented and have began to spend more time in the word, and God has blessed this greatly. I just wanted to share this with you at S.I. . God is good.
