Trust in the Lord

Quite a cheerful little verse you have there!

But seriously, trust in the Lord seems to be a just a phrase for many, rather than a reality.

It was not God's idea of a joke for Him to tell us to trust Him, and then failing to come through for us when the time came.

Psalm 20v7, 'Some trust in chariots...but we will remember the name of the Lord our God'

To remember God's name is to trust Him.

Since we seem to have nothing but bad news around us as of late, we do need a heart that is steadfastly trusting in the Lord.

What else is there to put our trust in?

1 Cor 15v19, 'If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable'.

Or miserable, if you like.

But we have no need to be miserable, if our trust and confidence is in the Creator of heaven and earth.

Well said. And that is exactly the reason for this thread. I can think of no better way to encourage such steadfastness than by looking at the Scriptures that exhort us to "Trust in the Lord." You can find them from Genesis to Revelation. Have a favorite "Trust in the Lord" verse? Please post.

This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

Though this verse does not have the word trust in it, it is there, and over the years it has been a key verse in my life.

Psalm 27v13, 'I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living'

Then it says in verse 14, 'Wait on the Lord...
