A little secret?

A little secret?

Spurgeon, THE HOLY GHOST- THE GREAT TEACHER

Let me tell you a little secret- whenever you cannot
understand a text, open your Bible, bend your knee,
and pray over that text; and if it does not split into
atoms and open itself, try again.

If prayer does not explain it, it is one of the things
God did not intend you to know, and you may be content
to be ignorant of it.

Prayer is the key that opens the cabinets of mystery.

Prayer and faith are sacred picklocks that can open secrets,
and obtain great treasures.

There is no college for holy education like that of the blessed
Spirit, for he is an ever-present tutor, to whom we have only to
bend the knee, and he is at our side, the great expositor of truth.

Amen.

In my class, I used to ask doubts to the teacher and it seemed that everyone else seemed to have understood it. Sometimes I would keep asking the same thing multiple times, because I just could not get it. There was irritation from the others and I often had to nod as if "now it is all clear". But often after class I used to meet up with the teacher and I used to get it cleared.

I see the same in the walk with the Lord. After the meeting when all have left, do I take what the Lord has spoken back to HIM in private, like the disciples, and ask HIM to reveal it to me. Move it form head to heart?

We need to be honest and ask till we understand it in our heart and not just in our head. Else satan will pluck that word and not allow it to take root in our heart, in our life.

Mar 4:10 And when He was alone, they who were about Him, with the Twelve, asked Him concerning the parable.
Mar 4:11 And He said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But to those outside, all these things are given in parables
Mar 4:12 so that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Mat 13:19 When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown by the wayside.

You have made a great post - even better.

Thank you both for this thread. I have saved all of it to my hard drive because I know I will want to read it often.
