there is a married couple i know who has split up. my prayer requests are as follows for them:
-that God would save where salvation is needed.
-that He would give me wisdom to be able to counsel this woman to His glory.
-that He would give the godly man counseling the husband wisdom for the same.
-that He would bring restoration and soften hardened hearts.

thank you for your prayers over this, and i call for them yet more.
it's not going well, two very stubborn people have hurt each other very much. so it does seem that our godly words are falling on deaf ears. but i know i can't see it all and that God is much, much bigger than what any of us can see.

Sometimes people have to hit rock bottom before they'll turn to God to lift them back up. Utter brokenness...
And sometimes in hurting marriages, if one party is willing to fight to keep the marriage alive, it can be turned around. If you can help get this woman to a place where she's willing to make sacrifices for this marriage, I pray it happens.
But until then, I'm praying for them (and you).

kristendoug, have you heard the sermons through paul washer on marriage? they are awesome and i would encourage you to take a listen if you haven't already. i am SO grateful that God worked in your marriage!!! but i went to that site and unfortunately found some unBiblical stuff...God is so big, He can do anything!! but i hope you'll give these sermons a listen together! you will be sooooo blessed!!!

it is great to see her willing to fight (and by fight i mean make sacrifices), yes, and it is great to see God slowly changing her, helping her to see that she does need to submit to the husband and not push him. she has a desire to change in this, and i see by God's amazing grace she is making choices to that end sometimes. so that is really great!!
