I thought this was a pretty clear sermon that speaks truth into the way mark driscoll preaches and pastors. I know God is using some good from his ministry but everyone is scared to say what they think in this regard. I feel there could be many better men suited for the pulpit of God.

This was a good message on these strange methods. It was well worth the time it took to hear it.
In my reading last night, after listening to this message, I came across this passage of scripture and thought to post it here from the NASB and the KJV.
Isaiah 32:6
"For a fool speaks nonsense, and his heart inclines toward wickedness, to practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord, to keep the hungry person unsatisfied and to withhold drink from the thirsty."
"For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail."

This was a clear presentation of what a man of God is and what they are called to do in the pulpit. It is worth listening to. The one thing that I can say is this we cannot compromise. There has to be a dividing line between the world and the church. I remember hearing Keith Daniel say " If you try to win the world with the world the world will win you" I cannot get those words out of my heart. Thanks for the post
Now that was a clear word. I particularly appreciated Titus and a more proper understanding of "being all things to all people" that is thrown out so flippantly these days.
I once spoke to a pastor privately who made a joke out of divorce (supporting it). He did not made a joke about divorce again but he persisted in making jokes before his message. Things irrelevant to any message from the Word of God, an appeal to the soulishness of hearers? something to make him feel more at ease? He has left the ministry of pastoring.
It seems to me now if you defile the Word of God in public from the pulpit, as this man did, right there and then a sharp rebuke would not be out of order. That could be something a man that fears man rather than God would be likely to hear.
"Woe unto those that defile the Word of God", is all I can think after hearing this message.

Isn't it something that this is even a problem? But then, the so-called "church" is not the true church anyway.

I first became aware of this type of speech from the pulpit 30 years ago. We attended a wedding where the pastor talked about things that should have only be spoken privately to the couple. I was embarrassed as were others. Fast forward to another wedding years later. Both weddings were officiated by ministers from the same conference. I concluded these pastors must have attended the same seminar which admonished preachers to be relevant to current culture.
Instead of referring to the sexual they are now employing comedy to the extent you think this preacher is a comedian!
It is refreshing to hear someone speak out boldly against these issues. God bless you for posting this link.
