I was watching the 700 club. The Elder from The Dream Center was being interviewed. Some interesting things were said about this place. For instance the name was given by the community, he was only 20 when planted, it is in a place where many will not go, and he said one of the main things was consistency being a presence for God more and more often then the criminals and therefore they are on the streets regularly and are open 24/7 and crime dropped 70% ect.
Now I do not know about this guy I have heard about the place but cannot even at this time remember his name. I am not sure if he has errors in his Church or what. Nevertheless a thought came to me and it is not as if it had never come to me before but here it is.
I often and emphatically think of revival as a quick momentary thing in which many people are saved and the Church awakened in a very short amount of time. However, I believe there is a revival in which it is slow and building. Wherein one seed after another is planted and comes forth in its season possibly years, and one person is powerfully saved after another which starts a chain reaction, and the prolonged continuance becomes in the end a large mighty work of God that is sure, steady, and staying, and crosses generations. So, I would say that often to seek a momentary revival in which God shows up and everything is momentarily fixed can often be a lazy non laboring concept. In the end I am not saying that there is no place for this and hope for it I am only bringing up this aspect as I have at times in my thoughts been to the extremes.
