I have heard many different types of testimonies. My pastor was on an air plane in world war 2 while on the air plane with 11 other men the plane wa about to crash and did but before they hit my pastor told God if he saved him he would do whatever he wanted him to do. 10 men on the plane died, one was paralyzed, my pastor came out with scratches. 16 years later my pastor still wasn't saved but he was an alcoholic and he went to church and thought God would help him quit so he went up the aisle and prayed about it, he quit for 6 months and he than fell back into it. He told me he came for the wrong reasons to God, for him to help his alcoholism problem. But finally he told me the lord began to show him he was a sinful , wicked pathetic person and he then repented of all his sins and truly became saved and hasn't fell for 50 years from his faith, not even close. My friend robert told me he was into pornography, was an alcoholic , into sports etc. and the lord began to convict him while he was going into the bars with his friends and became so strong the conviction, that he had to quit. The conviction continued until he told me that he literally had to see jesus on the cross and he repented for everyone of his sins. This man to me is the most serious christian i have ever seen, when i was working and going by him i would be convicted, by his holy lifestyle. Unbelievable man of God, 24/7 all day about God, he believes it wasn't his decision but by Gods sovereign choice and grace, because he pulled himout himself, not robert but god. Then i hear testimonies that paul washer gave about that man in alaska where he didn't even repent but was just saved while seeking the scriptures and praying, wonderful.
