I have really developed a deep love and appreciation for poetry. Not to long ago I started writting some Christian poetry and really enjoy doing it. Heres one of them:The Closer that I walk The closer that I walk with thee, the more suffering I am sure to see. As I follow in thy ways, the more I'll know how much you paid. The closer that I walk with thee, the more of your love I feel on me. As I follow in thy ways, the more I long to give you praise. The closer that I walk with thee, the more I wonder how can this be? As I follow in thy ways, the more I'll know you in my days. The closer that I walk with thee, the more in the world I hate to be. As I follow in thy ways, the more I wait to be taken away.Lets use this forum to share and discuss poetry. Mr Ravenhill has written some remarkable poems.

-John Tauler.Yea this fellow John Tauler is something else.. he was converted by Nicholas of Basle in the 14th century. The stories of both these men I just read last night.. im still staggering. Nicholas had 4 intense years of searching for God until he came to know Him truly with Holy Ghost assurance. here are the 4 years:1st year he was still trying to whip and chastise his body as all the other catholics in that time. He heard the still small voice say to him "throw away all these self-imposed toture and seek Gods will, He (God) would bring all the necessary suffering into his life."2nd year he spent lamenting his sinfulness.3rd year was one of fierce temptation.4th year in addition was pain and sickness.at the end of this period of 4 years, his joy and deliverance was so great that fearing it was another temptation , he fell on his knees, telling God he wanted libration and happiness, only if it were his will.--This man was hidden away in prayer up in the alps and sent letters to many leaders of the church, also making some choice trips to minister.

Thats really good. A fantastic idea putting it into a tract!I never really write poems except when i feel inspired to which is very rare. But last year i felt very led to write one. Not only did i write one but i did two. Heres one of them:Liitle cupThere once was a cupA beautiful cupShimmering, Shining every which wayTaking pride of placeAwaiting to be used for a special dayAs each day passedThere he would sitPolished, rubbed and polished some moreAdmired by allWho came through the doorThen the day cameWhen he was to be usedPolished one last timePlaced before the masterAwaiting to fill with new wineThe master lifted his cupTaken by it’s beautyHe took a look insideFixing his eyes upon the cupThe master just cried“Deceitful cupI cannot use youBeautiful on the outsideBut full of dirt and poison withinIf I was to use you Surely many would have died!”The cup beautiful though he wereWas rendered useless Because he was full of dirt and mireSo the master replaced him for one so pureAnd cast the little cup into the fireMat 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
