I came to this site sermonindex.net by chance- Reading the different posts-ARTICLES-SERMONS has stirred me- WAKING ME UP FROM my casual life with Christ.
the article praying till you pray-made me sit up - I was guilty of that I realized-
I was guilty of not feeding on the word of God regularly- some post here and personal messages motivated me to read the word more.Thankyou Whitestone.
the result of all this - i realize all the more that GOD IS GOOD/GOD IS ALIVE.HE wants me to have a deeper realtionship with Him.

help needed here- What do i do- i am not getting the release to stop praying- I HAVE CHORES TO DO - RESPONIBILITIES.....

I heard a message where the preacher said about Susanna Wesley who had 19 children, BUT SHE WAS A PRAYING MOTHER- SHE LEFT THE PRINT OF CHRIST IN HER CHILDRENS LIVES THROUGH HER PRAYERS. We all know about Charles and John Wesley.

Well, I am sure that she was a busy mother- with 19 children- how did she find time to pray and do all the chores and responsibilities.I DO NOT WANT TO BE SO HEAVENLY MINDED THAT I AM NO EARTHLY GOOD- I am thankful for this stirring- for God waking me up- i am thankful- i am not grumbling-what do i do- I FEEL LIKE I AM FLOATING IN A BOAT CALLED PRAYER - IN THE MIDDLE OF AN OCEAN WITH NO LAND ON SITE TO GET OFF AND DO MY Responsibilities.

I got up right now- forced myself out as it 12o'clock- Before I start with my chores I am quickly asking for an insight from this body of christ-........... we are here to help each other and uphold each other.

The Lord had me re-prioritize my life. He desires to be first in all things. Just keep your eyes on Him and all of the other things will fall into place. It is Satan that is trying to lure you away with anything, and everything he can come up with that you might consider to be more important than time with the Lord. The enemy would have it that you lose your new found treasure.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE SO HEAVENLY MINDED THAT I AM NO EARTHLY GOOD
Do not fear this, for the real fear is of being so earthly minded that you are no heavenly good. With your mind and heart in heaven, the things of earth will take care of themselves, for the Lord will be with you in all that you do - and He does it all so much better than we could ever dream of doing it for He knows all things, including the future and the hearts of other men. With your heart set upon heaven, you have a whole army at your side - that being the kingdom of God.

Many years ago, I read a tract from Pilgrim Tract Society that told of a lady missionary who spent many fruitless years in India, until she read something by John Hyde.

I copied this from the internet:

"A woman missionary influenced by Hyde's prayer life resolved to devote the best hours of her time to prayer, making prayer primary and not secondary as before. God said to her, "Call upon me and I will show thee great and mighty things. You have not called upon me and therefore you do not see these things in your work." As she began to make prayer the priority in her ministry, enormous changes resulted with 15 baptized at first, and 125 adults coming to Christ during the first half of the following year. Later she wrote, "Our Christians now number 600 in contrast with one-sixth of that number two years ago."

In the tract that I read, she told how that she worried that she wouldn't get all of her "really important" work done caring for the needy, etc . . . but, as HeartSong wrote . . . somehow she got all the necessary work done, and the abundant fruit of making prayer the primary work instead of the secondary work became undeniable not long afterwards.

Read the FIRST OF ALL in 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

Prayer moves the hand that moves the world!

When we depend on what man can do, we get the results of what man can do. When we depend on prayer, we get the results of what God can do.

GOD BLESS YOU! He will help you!

I think you have received some good advice so far. Remember that one of the subtle ways of the enemy is to keep us so busy with things, even things for the Lord and the work of the Lord that our prayer is pushed into a corner. Can you imagine that the Lord would accept the excuse, "Lord, I am too busy taking care of Your interests and my responsibilities to pray."?

Remember that when the children of Israel began to talk about their exodus from Egypt, the enemy's reaction was to double their work load. Something similar happens when we get determined to pray.

Of course there's always the danger that some people might hear that and consider it licence to forget their resposibilities, it is not that. I think the principle of the tithe applies well here, give God his time and He will give you grace to do more in the time that remains than you could have done if you did not pray.

In Christ,

Ron

JesusLoves,

I knew a woman in the Lord many years ago and she made up her mind to always "yield" to the Spirit and when the Spirit fell, she told the Lord that she would trust Him to take care of it all while she prayed. One time she went out in the Spirit while cooking and a half an hour later she got up and nothing was burnt. Now, did she do this everyday during every meal? Goodness, no.

Some of those who don't understand "going out in the spirit" may not understand this but my point is NOT her going out in the spirit but her "yielding" to the Lord to a fault.

I learned from her walk with the Lord that, "You can practice "yielding" to the Lord until you become perfect at it or you can practice "resisting" the Lord until you become perfect at that." Take your pick. The Lord gave her much wisdom in her lifetime.

[edit] Another thing I watched and learned... Her husband was her great obstacle in the beginning and she told the Lord (paraphrased), 'what you want me to do Lord, my man is opposed to so if this Bible won't work on my man, it won't work on anybody's man, therefore why go out?" Well, within months the Lord changed him and he become her greatest supporter and adviser; they ministered side by side until the Lord took her home.

God bless you, JesusLoves
