Hi Blazed...
I will certainly be praying for you. It is difficult to lose weight via exercise...because it is hard on the knees and feet when you are overweight. I would suggest that you find a recumbent bicycle.
A recumbent bike is an exercise bike that has a seat (with a backrest) and the peddles are in front of you (rather than below). It is more comfortable on the back, knees and feet. I purchased one at Wal-Mart for about $125 a couple of years ago for someone. That person would listen to sermons on CD or read a book while exercising...and quickly lost about 40 pounds (within a month -- a loss which this person has maintained ever since). The only other thing that this person did was cut off the drinking of sugary sodas (like Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper)...and replaced them with water and the occasional diet soda.
As far as medicine: I would continue to take the medicine UNTIL the Lord heals you. We can entertain the complaints about medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, but medicine is merely a temporary solution (hopefully) for conditions in which our bodies aren't functioning properly (often, when we are the cause). I have known at least two people DIE because they believed that the Lord would heal them and stopped taking their medication. We shouldn't approach medicine as if it were "voodoo." Everything that appears in legitimate medicine comes from natural substances...that assist the body in performing the way that it should. Remember: It was "medicine" and "vaccines" that all but eradicated many of the deadly plagues, viruses and diseases of the past.
If I remember correctly, Isaiah used a manmade oinment to cure Hezekiah's boil (although it was God who allowed him to live).
My father-in-law was diagnosed with high blood pressure a couple of months ago. He went to the doctor because he was feeling faint. The doctor diagnosed him and gave him some medicine and suggested lifestyle alterations. First of all, we all prayed for him. He also began taking his medication. He did change his lifestyle a little (less salt...and he stopped eating lard-based flour tortillas). He ate more vegetables (rather than french fries). He also took some brisk walks (difficult, however, in the hot Texas sun). He lost about ten pounds. Within two months, his blood pressure was normal. He is going to take his medicine for a couple more months, but discontinue it if all is well (as the doctor advised).
Regardless, I will continue to pray for you. Don't fear, brother. The Lord is indeed our healer. Sometimes, we go through such things because there are things that we should change in our lifestyles. Our bodies aren't meant to be overweight, but society is conducive for people to grow overweight or physically lazy (which is different than pure laziness...because our bodies can be lazy even if we stay busy). Please don't be afraid or concerned -- because God is watching over you. Keep us updated in this.
