What is wisdom?
The best defenintion that I have come across and embraced for myself, is something along these lines:
that wisdom is not knowledge, or even teaching, but the application of knowledge in the form of righteousness. It is not right knowledge but right actions based upon that knowledge; either in doing, or not doing, in putting forth, or in withholding, in acting, or in restraint. Deciding what is right and how to do it.
The serpent was subtle. He was wise, but not according to righteousness, and used the knowledge that he had for evil.
The Lord Jesus tells us to be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves.
And James says that the wisdom that comes from above is pure, gentle and peaceable. Easy to be intreated. Full of mercy, and good fruits. Without partiality and without hypocrisy.
I'm by no means there. I hope it was alright to share a few thoughts with you. Please only accept them as a few thoughts from me.
