Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:...
In past times when the Tabernacle was built or the Temple the presence of the Lord filled it.
There was much effort and resources put into it. You will see the Holy Spirit giving great skill or David using trillions of dollars for materials with the wisdom of Solomon by the Holy Spirit again putting it together.
This I think is a great picture and message to us.
Our Church buildings are not the house of God.
We as individual saints are Temples of the Holy Spirit.
However, this is not sufficient at all.
We are but living stones that are want to be put together and built up into the house of God.
So we should take all the lessons from what we see here as God testifies.
If we do so there will be revival and the presence of the Lord will again be manifest mightily.
There are many things to see.
A couple things however that are main I will mention.
First, we need to know that God wants to build His house. Does He not? Yes, He always has.
Second, we are not to build our own house and leave God without one like David.
Third, we cannot with bloody hands build it. It must be a work through Jesus by the Holy Spirit.
Fourth, we will need much resources that will only come through winning battles like David.
Fifth, we will need great wisdom directly from the Holy Spirit. As the men who crafted the tabernacle or as Solomon who orchestrated the Temple and were both emphatically imparted to. A great master builder as Paul would say this is no light non skillful thing. As these men were gifted so also we need the gifts of the Spirit. If we have no gifts as Cessasionists or just nominals then we have no wisdom to build.
Sixth, it will have to be a holy Temple and undefiled. Or else the anger of the Lord will be kindled. Or else the presence of the Lord will depart. The greater the anointing the higher the accountability.
Seventh, when the Lord does come what a great and lofty occasion it will be. The priest will fall on their faces in hush. The people will be lead by it. The power of the Lord will be in our midst.
My main point is this. In past times when the house of the Lord was built correctly the presence of the Lord mightily manifested. We are but living stones and need to be built together as a body. When this is done in all correctness and love the power of the Lord will break out for revival. Then when we come together to pray the building will shake, tongues of fire will fall on us, a mighty rushing wind will blow through.
Then it is not so much about individual going out to evangelize that will bring revival though that is an essential and strong part. It is about the body coming together unto the fullness of Christ. Christ walking on the earth. The witness of God breaking out as on Pentecost when men saw the wonders that were being done and were saved. The gifts of the Spirit being given as Paul says so that we lack in no good thing.
It cannot be done alone. It cannot be done with just the few who are zealous. We need this message. We need to emphatically trumpet and zealously undertake to build the body of Christ together.
Then it will be said, "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of the LORD'".
