You hear so much against this language today, that receiving Jesus for salvation is not scriptural. John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name"

It sure does.
Believing on jesus would to be recieving but what is going in the church today is that their making into a little step or a prayer instead of stay right where you our at don't come to this altar to get saved do what scripture says, repent, believe on Jesus, call upon the name of the Lord, its not something a man tells you to pray or saying these words out loud to be saved, you get alone with God personally and get saved by believing what his word says to be saved, it is not some steps. I had to see it happen at my pastors funeral asking jesus into your heart, no gospel, and then last sunday no gospel but say this simple prayer to recieve Jesus, that is not what the Bible says. Recieving in the Bible is so much different than the recieving in todays churches, it is just true.
Ver. 12. He gave to them power to be made the adoptive sons of God, and heirs of the kingdom of heaven. They are made the children of God by believing and by a new spiritual birth in the sacrament of baptism, not of blood; (literally, not of bloods) not by the will, and desires of the flesh, not by the will of men, nor by human generation, as children are first born of their natural parents, but of God, by faith and divine grace.
