What?

Okay, a VERY dear friend of mine has been posting some topics on his blog lately about what he believes. He said he was a "Reformed Southern Baptist Calvinist." What exactly does this mean? What do Calvinists believe and how does it differ from the Southern Baptist point of view? I get the whole reformed part, but not the Calvinist part. I've heard of Calvinism but never really delved into what they believe. Now that my friend is calling himself a Southern Baptist Calvinist, I feel I need to know about this. Can anyone direct me to a website, or just respond on here and help me out? Thanks SI!

Although, I try to stay away from these types of theology... they can be very argumentative!

And I found that some actually put more 'faith' in a belief system than they actually put into the God of their faith but that's just my experience with it and people!

The Southern Baptist Convention was originally founded with a firm belief in the Calvinistic understanding of salvation, and there is currently a strong movement within the SBC to return to those roots.
