Amen! This is what we are called to do... To show the Compassion of Christ to the destitute, the ones who have rejected themselves, those who are aware of their hopelessness without Christ... it's the perfect starting point for Christ being their all in all.
In essence, we are no different; all those who love and serve Christ have first had to reach this point of being poor in spirit, and realising that any 'good' of ourselves is as 'filthy rags', no matter what the route of our getting there!
Matthew 5: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of God..."
hi, we had an influx of over 100 of them in our church in the 60s and we loved them into the kingdom. they dressed wierd.. acted wierd... were wierd... i asked the head of the women in our church what we should do about their lack of underwear and other issues and she said to love,pray,and lead by example.there were many secret weddings that year and the dress changed and leaders emerged. whatever is born of spirit is spirit and of flesh is flesh. thank God for the mature and wise leadership that this church has had over the years. i saw hundreds of people changed by God who became fruit that remained and many, many miracles during this time.Jimp
