Modern Gospel - No Repentance

N

The modern lawless Gospel teaches that you do not need to repent of your sins to be saved but that you are saved while you are impenitent. A sinner is either repentant or impenitent. If he hasn’t changed his mind about sinning, his heart is still planning on sinning. To say that you do not need to repent to be forgiven is to say that you can be impenitent and still be saved. This is contrary to all of Scripture which represent the impenitent as under the wrath of God.

One cannot draw near to God without leaving sin behind. Our God is a Holy God. We can be with God and away from sin, or we can stay in sin and away from God. We cannot have both.

To turn to God requires turning from sin. To turn from sin requires turning to God. We need to choose between sin and the Savior because we cannot have both.

To live with God means you cannot live with sin. To live with sin means you cannot live with God. Sin separates us from God, which is why the Apostle John says you cannot know God if you break His commandments.

You cannot love God and love sin at the same time. God and sin are opposites. You will love the one and hate the other.

The defining distinction between sinners and saints is that one hates God and disobeys Him while the other loves Him and obeys Him. Which catagory we fall into is for us to decide.

Actually this doctrine is almost 500 yrs. old. It is formally called Sola Fide or Faith Alone.

Please see the following Scripture:

"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." - Jas. 2:24

That's the only Scripture that has the words "faith alone" together.

Hmmm....
