President Obama's brief proclamation of Thanksgiving Day on November 26 was unique among all recorded Thanksgiving proclamations by his predecessors: it is the first one that fails to directly acknowledge the existence of God.

The beneficence shown by God to America is a theme that traditionally defines the Thanksgiving holiday, and this theme is strongly emphasized in the original Thanksgiving Day proclamations and consistently acknowledged even by modern presidents.

Obama's unprecedented proclamation, however, only makes indirect mention of God by quoting George Washington, stating: "Today, we recall President George Washington, who proclaimed our first national day of public thanksgiving to be observed 'by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God.'" ...

Saw this on a 'news' forum. Made me heart sick. Thought about posting it but do not like to keep posting bad news or people may get the idea I am biased. But, I am - for God! The God who Answers Prayers, the Lord God Almighty. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

Atheism and communism go hand in hand

The difference between agnostics and atheists is that the latter can become militant. Should the state ever move from being 'secular' to atheist, then we Christians here will be in for it.

Since the 'fall' of Soviet style communism, we have a new generation in Europe and North America who view state-controlled socialism as compassion instead of despotism. Under the banner and guise of social justice. marxist political, historical, and literary criticism are now en vogue within the highest levels of western government, academia, and organized religion.

let me make a slight adjustment to that statement, let the atheists, the state, the empire make this Faith ILLEGAL, and then the devil will be in for it!

We, the Body of Christ, goes underground then, and you watch the Power of Jesus at work, no more games, no more fancy buildings, no more cementhead fleshlings with bull horns, no more power hungry neo-pharisees fornicating with Herod, no more greedy thiefs and their blow dried tired act playing out on Tv screens on such hellish networks like TBN.

All we will have left is our weak lonely broken selfs, truly then, the "scum of the earth", as Paul speaks of, and we have Jesus, we have the Holy Ghost, and we will have the Word, a double edged sword, and these Bibles which we hide and smuggle and treasure will cut CHUNKS out of the devils hindquarters and his foul plans......I say BRING IT!

my prayer is, WHEN that happens, that i stay strong till the end, and once the empire makes this Most Holy Faith illegal watch out for the wolves that go around shrieking, "Romans 13!", they're wolves and appeasers of the devil, maybe the empire will craft the "official church", kind of like constantine did with that scarlet whore, the roman institution.

Mike, we WILL "be in for it", but it'll be okay, God knows what He's doing, and whats the worst they can "do" to us?

I say, "bring it".

I'm sorry brother Neil, but this is simply the wrong attitude to have. I know there is a spirit amongst some here that has romantic notions about being a persecuted church, and many somehow view this as a key to bringing revival and a mature church. But the New Testament never teaches such, and church history doesn't either. While the church has often abounded in times of persecution and great grace has rested upon it, heresies of the highest kinds have crept in during such times as well. A simple glance through the writings of the ante-nicene fathers will show you that much. Furthermore, such a mindset of "bring it on" blasphemes the blood of those who have been martyrs. There has yet to be a martyr who did not glory in his death for the sake of Christ, but no true martyr wants such a thing.

We should always desire peace with our neighbors, and that we would be counted in good standing with government officials. We should never desire to be persecuted. In fact, Christ told us if they persecute us in one city we are to flee to the next city.

The power of Jesus will work in our own generation, and there will be great glory, persecution or no persecution. The power of Jesus will work in any man who humbles himself before the Lord of glory. I've suffered persecution in times past. It is no fun, and I have no desire for it. I rejoiced through it all, but, I have no desire to go through it again.

More persecution will come sure enough, and the stage is definitely being set here in the West for a major assault of the enemy on our Christian faith. But we should pray against this rising tide of anger, and seek to establish peace.

Beloved, when I wrote, "bring it", i'm not writing that in a spirit of frivolity, or flippantly, or even combatively, nor do i entertain notions the persecution I foresee, will be a heroic romantic danse macabre set to the swelling notes of movie music.

no, i did not write in such a spirit, and only God knows whether what i see will come to pass. I have so much more to say, but a cyber forum is not the appropriate venue, as such can be so easily misconstrued, which leads to misunderstanding, which leads to acrimony, and as I love you in the Lord, I have no desire for such.

I grew up as a kid in a small country in eastern europe and know by experience how devastating is the communist totalitarian regime.

I believe the next totalitarian system will be something worse than communism or socialism. One thing in common that the totalitarian systems have is the worship of man in the place of God.

To be perfectly honest, I think and feel that I am so far from God because of organized church and all the doo, doo that is attached to it.
Not that I would want to romantisize being percuted.
I think that is what I need to get in the place where God can finally break me, for His glory.
Underground churches where I would finally take my lazy self off the t.v. and cry out to God for help finally, finally is what He would probably say...to a wretch like me.
If God doesn't show this country mercy and bring us back to a place where we will cry out to him day and night. We are going to be lost....
I don't even feel like im one of the remnant....
God help us before we loose heart altogether..
Lord please convict, and convert Obama.
And this country. Starting with the House of God.
