Wondering

Something has been on my heart for a few days. I was talking with my mom and she has been struggling with sadness and depression. She mentioned that one thing that has been heavy on her heart is she has been thinking more about my dad. (they were divorced several years before his death) She said its just really hard for her to come to terms with the fact that he does not exist any more. I found this a really strange statement coming from her because even as a Catholic she knows that the persons does not stop or cease to exist. There is life after death, those who repent and live their life walking with the Lord, submitting their lives to Him go on to be with Him. Those who live for self in rebellion to Him go on to Hell. She does know this and yet she said how bothered she is that my dad no longer exists? Been praying if I should try and talk with her more about this, maybe it is an opening to share with her????

Any thoughts
God bless

Talk to her about healing...and that it can only come from Jesus. The world will tell her that time heals, that time forgives, that time will fix everything but that's not true.

Only the Truth can set her free.

The best book I ever read about these things is by David Wilkerson called 'Have you felt like giving up lately.' Don't worry about the title. I read it even when I don't feel like giving up. It tackles that subject.

MaryJane,

Next time your mother talks about your dad, just listen carefully and ask her questions, demonstrating that you are listening to her heart. In the course of the conversation, just listen to the Spirit to see what He would have you say. Do not plan beforehand. That does not fly well...

God bless you....
