Does anyone know anything about this man or his ministry? Some of his music has been a blessing to me.

Yes. This brother lives about 10 miles from me. Is there anything in particular that you would like to know?

Blessings

I read somewhere where he was compared to Keith Green, whom I had the pleasure of hearing twice. This man appeared to have a genuine passion for Christ, and was willing to challenge convention of his day to demonstrate what appeared to be a faith of true substance. I guess I'm curious to know if that was an accurate comparison.

I am not sure if that is an accurate comparison or not, but brother Upton's music has been a tool used by the Lord to bring me closer to Him.

I will say that from what I know of brother Upton, he has a genuine passion for Christ. Upton's music (I believe) is Spirit lead. I see no flesh or fakeness in Upton's music, which cannot be said about many different christian musicians of this day. Brother Upton also runs a House Church out of his home. Some of my friends have been invited in to worship with Jason, and have told me that he is a man of the Lord.

When I listen to Upton's music, I am always pointed towards Christ. It is as if I am signing these songs to Christ, instead of someone else singing them. Many, many times I have been brought to tears when listening to his music and feeling the presence of the Lord in it.

If I may, I would suggest these CD's of Jason Upton (All are supurb, but my favorities are in bold:

I only really listen to 3 guys. Keith Green, Rich Mullins and Jason Upton.

When I first heard the album 'Faith' it did something in my soul. It made me just want to close the door behind me and worship the Lord over and over.

He's more like an intercessor worshiper.

I'm a little concerned about his possible endorsement of "The Message" by Eugene Peterson. Am I being too cautious?

If you are talking about the bible version the Message... well lets just say I cannot read it. In fairness though, I know some pretty godly folk that read the message for different reasons.

Are you being to cautious? Well lets just say that I would not stop listening to Upton because of the version of Bible he reads or doesn't read.

Cliché time... "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water." I do not agree with everything that brother Upton does, but again in fairness, I don't agree with everything my wife does either lol.

Is Upton's music a blessing to you? Does it help bring you closer to the Lord? Is it edifying?

Bless you brother
