Anyone familiar with Chuck Missler?

I used to listen to Chuck back in the late 80's and early 90's. I alsways enjoyed listening to him. He was a contemporary of Walter Martin, the origianl Bible Answer man.

i recommend getting the book, i actually have it but it has only increased my faith, but hey jdl if you haven't checked out any of lee strobels books case for faith or case for the real jesus, or josh mcdowells book new evidence that demands a verdict that is really good, if you want give me your address and i can send you those books if you want.I also highly recommend a book by Charles spurgeon called All of Grace, it might be something perfect for you at this time.

I, like most of the others on this thread listened to him and bought his books and tapes in the 1980’s and 1990’s. I actually got turned off to him leading up to the Y2K debacle. He was one of those leading the group about the computers that would no longer work, the elevators, and preaching about the coming collapse of the infrastructure in America due to Y2K. With his background of running Western Digital, and other major companies, he held a lot of sway for many people. He actually wrote some books about this issue, and moved from Southern California to Couere De Lane, Idaho. He also made lots of money during the period of 1997-1999 selling his books & tapes about the upcoming catastrophe (Y2K).

That is when I lost interest in Chuck Missler. If you look at his tapes or books, you will notice that he always has a twist, a different slant. One of those slants is about the Nephilim. Of course, this is a popular belief among charasmatics. Chuck Missler has the mistaken belief that the "Nephilim", who he believes were fallen angels, mated with humans.

However, the King James is clear on this issue that Angels cannot mate with man, as they (Angels) are spirit beings, that can take on a body, but do not have the "plumbing" required to fornicate, or generate new life.

[color=990000][b]The King James Bible teaches that there were Giants in the Land, that were created when the sons of God (believers in God) fornicated with the daughters of men (the daughters of Cain).

What this tells us is that one of the sons of Noah was married to a daughter of Cain.[/b] In Genesis 9 we find that when Noah was awakened from his sleep, he realized that his son Ham had looked upon his newdness. (This was prohibited by God in the law, along with the requirement of sacrifice and many other requirements)that was received under Moses--even though the law was given at a later time. We know that believers at the time of Noah knew what He required of them (Sacrifice & Offering & Worship).

[b]Noah knew the evilness of Ham, yet he curses Canaan, his son, who had not even been born yet!! This was actually a prophecy of the future, when Ham would go into the promised land, and take his wife, and his son Canaan, and would dwell there.[/b]

These are the Giants that dwelled in the land of Canaan, peopled by the Ham & his wife, and their offspring---- Canaan:

Amorites, Anakims, Aviums,[color=990000][b] Canaanites,[/color][/b] Caphtorims, Emins, Hittites, Hivites, Horims, Kadmonites, Kenites, Kenizzites, Perizzites, Rephaims, Zamzummins, Zebusites, Zuzims.

[color=990000][b]Without going into a long analysis, Jesus Christ has told us that Demons cannot procreate with humans. It is an impossibility, as the Angels are sexless beings, and are not like humans. They are actually created Spiritual beings, that were all created at one time. The first man Adam was created by God, and then man has continued to generate new life through procreation (sexual intercourse). Angels/Demons do not have this ability. Their numbers are frozen, and their fates are sealed.[/color][/b]

23. The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, 24. Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

[color=990000][b]Long story short, Chuck is right on a lot of issues, and dead wrong on others. I would advise you to be careful.[/color][/b]

Here is an intriguing verse showing this biblical reality:
“And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33)
To put this in perspective we will show how the men making that statement came to this revelation.

God decides that the tribes of Israel should settle in the land called Canaan and orders Moses to send men to explore it (and who is waiting there for them? The giants, doing the will of Satan to thwart God's Plan):

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel:” and “And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan…” (Numbers 13:1&17)

The men return and a report that it is a beautiful and abundant land, but with great walled cities and a “strong” people that were the sons of Anak living there:

“And they returned from searching of the land after forty days….And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. “(Numbers 13:25-28)

There is a call to conquer the land but the men give a warning about the strength of the inhabitants:
“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”(Numbers 13:30-32)
