There is a nice book that deals with healing by John Sherrill entitled They Speak With Other Tongues.
The book is a partial biography of John and Elizabeth Sherrill, who coauthored books like The Cross and the Switchblade with David Wilkerson, The Hiding Place with Corrie Ten Boom, and God's Smuggler with Brother Andrew (among several others).
In this book, John Sherrill details his own spiritual journey and research into certain spiritual phenomenon (like divine healing). He and his wife were quite skeptical of such things. They explain how they had been atheists who came to Christ. For years, they attended traditional mainstream denominational churches (even while skeptics). Eventually they gave their hearts to Christ. John Sherrill performed quite a bit of research into such matters. This research made him less critical, but he remained somewhat skeptical. Eventually, he recounts that he found himself in a hospital suffering tremendously from a deadly illness. During this time of suffering, Mr. Sherrill experienced healing for himself.
I would certainly recommend this book to anyone. In it, he details the findings of his own research and interviews with people like David Wilkerson and Corrie Ten Boom. I appreciate his logical approach to the subjects within the book and the fact that he isn't out to convince anyone of anything or convert them toward his own views. I found it to be a very balanced view of the subject of healing and tongues.
