Happy New Year

MaryJane Dec 31, 2009

Greetings

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year:-)
Not sure what 2010 will bring but I look forward to what the Lord has for me to be about in this coming year. As I look back over 2009 I realize that for a time I allowed myself to get caught up in the things of this world. I found myself struggling with fear and uneasiness about what may or may not take place. All the "what if" questions that plagued me I now see where very much a tool used by the enemy to take my focus off of the King! In my flesh and in self I fell into this trap all to easily. If 2009 has taught me anything then it is this, regardless of what is happening in the world around me...my life must always be hidden in Him. In this world these things will happen... new presidents, changing policy, flu, virus, vaccines, floods, droughts, health care, global warming, freezing winters, bail outs, lies, greed, hatred, and wars...after all we live in a fallen world that spins on and on until its time is fulfilled. The Bible tells us we must not worry ourselves over such things (Matthew 24:6) There is hope and a truth that is unchanging, "God is in control of it all and forever will be!" That is the truth that I am going into the new year with. Knowing Jesus, walking with Him, placing my entire life into His hands knowing that no matter what comes He is still King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For to much of this past year I allowed distractions to rob me of the time I should have spent in Him, for that I repent and ask forgiveness. I want to share Jesus with those around me, to learn to love others more then self, to care for those who are in need, and to be about the things of His Kingdom. life is to short and the time He gives us to precious to be wasted on self and distractions.

Thank you to all those faithful brothers and sisters here on the forum for your prayers and encouragement...it has always been a great comfort to me.

God Bless and keep you all in His care

I too wish to greet everyone on SermonIndex a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The forum has been a huge blessing for me this year. I have enjoyed the fellowship and the sharing of thoughts with many of the believers in this forum, and I want to thank you all for this. My participation in SI has encouraged me to delve deeper in the word, to review and solidify my doctrinal beliefs in the light of the word, and to be more circumspect in my communications with others. There have been times when I actively participated in contentious discussions as I felt led by the Spirit, and I wish to sincerely apologize to anyone in SI who may have been hurt or disturbed by any of my posts. Please know that my intention has always been loving correction or friendly debate, and never to hurt anyone.

I wish you all the very best of God's love and His blessings in the new year, and I look forward to greater fellowship with all of you.

In Jesus Christ,
Leo

Happy New Year to my online Family. I feel like I know most of you, though we've never met. 2010 is just another set of numbers against the fact that we have eternal life abiding in us today.

The more we get to know one another the more our differences will fade, but what will remain is that foundation that we all know and love, Jesus Christ our chief cornerstone the One who died for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him by faith.

Happy New Year

Fraternally Yours

Karl

Hi Sister MaryJane...

Thank you for this post. I am reminded of the old saying, "I don't know what the future holds...but I know who holds the future."

Be encouraged...for our Redeemer lives!

11 "'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' saith the LORD, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.'"

- Jeremiah 29:11-13

Goodbye 2009:) The other day I heard it said well, that for 2010, let's not commit to what we will do, but instead commit to who we will be.

I have much anticipation for the coming year. I anticipate great shakings... There is such a need for that.

But what I really anticipate is-- and actually this is a word that was given me a few years ago, and I feel it now afresh-- I was reading the 91st psalm one day. And I came to the words, "I will be with him in trouble..." (Ps. 91.15). And as I read the word,"I," the Presence of the Lord filled my heart in such a precious, precious way. It seemed like this "I" was just in heavy bold type, as the most important word in that verse.

Do we know Who that is? "I"-- God Himself... our Lord Jesus Christ HIMSELF... will be with us in trouble? Is there anything more precious than His Presence? Can there be anything else a person could possibly desire?

And so that is my hope and prayer for each and every one of you all. A Happy, a BLESSED 2010 to you all, with the Blessing of His PRESENCE... come what may!

Going into the new year, the Lord is teaching me to be broken unto His will and to daily take up my cross and follow him. May God's blessings be poured out on you all this year!
